GreenWorks G24 Series — 24V Li-ion Replacement Battery (29842)

This is a 24V, 4000mAh (96Wh) lithium-ion battery for the GreenWorks G24 cordless tool platform. It fits G24 drills, hedge trimmers, pole hedge trimmers, and other G24 system tools. OEM part numbers covered include 29842, 29852, 29322, G24B2, 29807, and 29837.

• G24 platform compatibility: All tools in the G24 system share the same 24V battery rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack works across drills, hedge trimmers, and lawn tools without adapters or firmware differences.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated motor-start inrush events on G24 tooling. The BMS handled trigger-pull current spikes without nuisance tripping and maintained stable cell-to-cell voltage balance across the discharge curve.

BMS cutoff on G24 motor-start inrush surge

Every trigger pull on a G24 saw or drill creates a short current spike as the motor spins up from rest. If the BMS overcurrent threshold is set conservatively — or if rail contacts have built up resistance from dirt or corrosion — that spike can trip the protection circuit and shut the pack down immediately. Clean the battery terminals and tool contact points with isopropyl alcohol before assuming the pack is faulty. A pack that recovers after 10–15 seconds of rest is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed cell.

Hedge trimmer bogs and slows under sustained cutting load

Voltage sag under sustained load is the most common complaint on G24 hedge trimmers working through dense growth. As cell temperature rises inside the enclosed battery housing, internal resistance increases and the pack can no longer hold 24V under draw — the tool slows noticeably. Pull the pack off the tool and let both cool for five minutes, then resume. If sag starts earlier in each session, check rail contact resistance — corroded contacts add resistance that accelerates this effect and the fix is a clean with isopropyl alcohol before the next charge.
