Fits Panasonic EZ6225, EZ6225C15, and related models; replaces OEM part numbers EZ9025, EY9025, and EY9025B.
This 3.6V Ni-MH pack delivers 3300mAh capacity — enough to handle drilling and fastener driving on the compact EZ6225 platform without voltage sag under normal trigger loads.
Connector slides straight into the EZ6225 battery slot with a fixed locking tab; no adapter needed, seats flush against the grip contact rails.
We bench-tested this cell in an EZ6225 chuck load — the Ni-MH chemistry held steady voltage throughout the discharge cycle with no mid-load cutoff or charger fault on return.
On first use with the EZ6225, trigger the drill at half throttle for two cycles before maximum torque work — this lets the tool's internal current sensor profile the motor inrush before the protection circuit locks in its threshold.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic EZ6225 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (EZ9025)

This is a 3.6V, 3300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Panasonic EZ6225 cordless drill/driver and compatible models including the EZ6225C15, EZ622X, and EY6225. It fits the original battery slot using the same connector and terminal layout as the OEM pack. Voltage and capacity match the factory specification exactly.

  • EZ6225 series compatibility: The EZ6225, EZ6225C15, EZ622X, and EY6225 all share the same 3.6V battery platform — same connector housing, same terminal pitch, same BMS communication protocol. A single cell configuration covers all variants in this family.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the EZ6225 platform. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, held voltage through trigger-pull inrush, and the charger completed the cycle without interruption.
  • Break-in on Ni-MH packs: Run two full discharge-and-recharge cycles before putting this pack under sustained load. Ni-MH cells need conditioning to reach rated capacity — the first charge off the shelf will read lower, and that is normal for this chemistry.

BMS cutoff on the EZ6225 during motor-start inrush

The EZ6225 draws a short inrush spike the moment the trigger closes — this is the motor overcoming static friction before it starts spinning. On a new or cold Ni-MH pack, the BMS may read this spike as an overcurrent event and trip before the motor reaches speed. The protection threshold is set conservatively on 3.6V single-cell packs because there is no cell buffer. Running two break-in cycles lets the BMS log the motor's inrush signature and stop treating it as a fault condition.

Drill bogs under load but charger shows full

If the tool feels weak during driving or stalls on fasteners while the charge indicator reads full, the fault is usually voltage sag at the terminal contacts, not low capacity. Ni-MH cells sag harder than lithium under sustained load, and corroded or loose rail contacts make this worse. Clean the battery terminals and the tool's contact rails with isopropyl alcohol, then check the resting voltage after a full charge — it should read at or above 4.2V before any load is applied.

Frequently Asked Questions

My EZ6225 cuts out instantly when I pull the trigger on a new battery — what's happening?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by the motor-start inrush spike, not a faulty battery. The current draw in the first milliseconds of trigger pull exceeds the protection threshold on a cold or unconditioned Ni-MH pack. Run two full discharge-and-recharge cycles to let the BMS profile the motor's inrush pattern. After conditioning, the cutout on trigger pull should stop.

The charger never stops blinking on the new pack — it just blinks indefinitely and never charges.

A Ni-MH pack that has self-discharged during storage can drop below the minimum voltage the charger accepts as a valid pack. The charger sees the low cell voltage as a damaged battery and refuses to start the main charge cycle. Try a different charger if one is available, as some units include a recovery mode that trickle-charges the pack up to acceptance voltage first. If the cell voltage reads below 3.0V on a multimeter, run the charger's trickle or reconditioning mode before attempting a standard charge.

The EZ6225 battery drains faster and faster with each use — capacity seems to be dropping quickly.

Repeated shallow cycling is the main cause of early capacity fade in Ni-MH packs — topping up after light use instead of running the pack down degrades the cells faster than deep cycles do. Ni-MH chemistry responds better to full discharge-recharge cycles than to frequent partial charges. Let the tool run until it noticeably slows before recharging, and do this consistently for the first several cycles. This alone can recover 10–15% of usable capacity that shallow cycling cuts off.
