Fits Pressfit Lynx, Lynx RR, Puma, and Puma-RR cordless drills and impact drivers; replaces OEM battery pack for 18V platform.
18V nominal, 2000mAh capacity delivers 36Wh — sufficient for light-duty fastening and drilling on standard job-site cycles.
Battery slides onto tool frame with keyed connector alignment; locking tab seats flush against housing without forcing.
We ran load tests under sustained drill and impact operation — BMS held stable at 18V rail, no premature cutoff events recorded.
On first use with Lynx platform, run the tool at half trigger for two cycles before maximum torque applications — lets the BMS profile motor inrush spikes before locking overcurrent protection thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pressfit Lynx / Puma Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 18V 2000mAh (36Wh) Li-ion battery fits the Pressfit Lynx, Lynx RR, Puma, and Puma-RR cordless power tools. It slots into the same battery bay and connects to the same 18V rail these platforms share. Voltage and capacity match the original factory specification.

  • Lynx and Puma platform compatibility: The Lynx, Lynx RR, Puma, and Puma-RR all run the same 18V battery rail and use the same connector and BMS handshake protocol. One battery works across all four models without any adapters or firmware differences to navigate.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on a Lynx drill and cycled it through repeated trigger pulls at full torque. The BMS handled motor-start inrush current without tripping and held voltage within the expected discharge curve across the full cycle.
  • Motor inrush break-in: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full-torque applications. This lets the BMS log the motor's inrush current signature and set overcurrent thresholds accurately — reducing nuisance trips on hard starts later.

BMS cutoff on drill motor-start inrush surge

When you pull the trigger on a cordless drill, the motor draws a spike of current — often three to five times the running current — before it reaches operating speed. If the BMS has not yet profiled that inrush, it can read the spike as a fault and cut the circuit immediately. This pack's BMS is rated for the inrush profile of the Lynx and Puma motors. Running two half-load break-in cycles before demanding full torque gives the BMS the data it needs to stop treating normal motor start-up as an overcurrent event.

Tool bogs under load and voltage drops noticeably

A drill or driver that runs fine at idle but loses torque under load is showing voltage sag — the cell voltage drops faster than it should when current demand rises. The most common cause on older tools is high contact resistance at the battery terminal, not a failed cell. Clean the battery bay terminals with isopropyl alcohol and check for oxidation or debris before assuming the pack is faulty. If the resting voltage reads above 17V after a full charge but sag under load is still heavy, check the tool's motor brushes or driver electronics for additional resistance in the circuit.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pressfit Lynx cuts out the instant I pull the trigger on a hard fastener — why does it stop immediately rather than run weak?

That instant cutoff is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. The motor-start inrush spike on a loaded drill can exceed the BMS's overcurrent threshold before the motor even starts spinning. Run two light-load cycles first — this lets the BMS profile the inrush current and raise its trip threshold to match the actual motor behaviour. After break-in, full-torque pulls on the Lynx should no longer trigger an immediate cutoff.

The charger light blinks red and never begins charging my new Pressfit battery — what's happening?

A new or long-stored Li-ion pack can drop below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 10–12V for an 18V pack — during transit or shelf storage. Most chargers refuse to start a charge cycle on cells below that threshold as a safety measure. Some chargers have a recovery or "wake-up" mode; check your charger manual for a trickle or recovery setting and activate it. If your charger has no recovery mode, a compatible charger with that feature will bring the pack back up to acceptance voltage before the main charge cycle starts.

My Pressfit Puma-RR runs noticeably weaker on cold mornings — is the battery failing or is this normal?

Cold weather is a known Li-ion behaviour, not a sign of a failing pack. Below 5°C, internal cell resistance rises significantly, which reduces the current the pack can deliver and causes earlier voltage sag under load. Warm the battery to room temperature before use — carry it inside or in a jacket pocket for 15–20 minutes. Once cell temperature is above 10°C, the pack will deliver its rated output again without any charging or reset needed.
