Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Marantz RC9001 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V 2200mAh Li-ion battery fits the Marantz RC9001 infrared remote control. The RC9001 is used to operate Marantz A/V receivers and amplifiers. When the original cell loses capacity or refuses to hold a charge, this is the direct replacement.
- RC9001 fit: The RC9001 uses a single rechargeable Li-ion cell rather than disposable AA or AAA batteries. This cell matches the 3.7V nominal voltage and physical 65.99 × 18.33 × 18.33mm footprint the remote's battery bay requires.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff and accepted a full charge without thermal event or BMS lockout.
- Single-cell install note: The RC9001 runs one Li-ion cell, so there is no second cell to worry about. Before fitting, confirm the polarity markings inside the bay match the cell's positive and negative terminals — Li-ion cells installed backwards will not power the remote and can stress the protection circuit.
Why the RC9001 IR signal weakens before the battery is fully depleted
The RC9001's IR LED needs a minimum voltage to fire at full intensity. A Li-ion cell begins dropping below that threshold well before it reaches 0% charge. The remote still powers on and the display may still light up, but the IR burst is too weak to trigger the receiver across a normal room. At that point the cell reads around 3.5V or lower — replace it rather than trying to recover it with a top-up charge.
RC9001 shows no response at all after fitting the new battery
A new cell that produces zero response is almost always installed backwards. The positive terminal on this Li-ion cell must align with the positive marking inside the RC9001's battery compartment. Reversed polarity blocks the circuit entirely — the remote will not power on, and no button will register. Remove the cell, flip it 180 degrees, reseat it, and press any button to confirm operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My RC9001 remote does nothing after I put the new battery in — did I get a dead cell?
In most cases the cell is fine and the polarity is reversed. Li-ion cells installed backwards block the circuit completely, so no button responds and nothing lights up. Remove the battery, flip it so the positive end aligns with the + mark in the compartment, and reseat it. If the remote still shows no response after that, check that the cell is making firm contact with both terminals.
The RC9001 works, but now I have to point it directly at the receiver from much closer than before — is the new battery too weak?
This happens when the cell voltage is still above the power-on threshold but below the level the IR LED needs to fire at full intensity. A Li-ion cell in this state typically reads around 3.5V or lower. The fix is a fresh charge — plug the remote in and bring the cell back up to 4.2V. If the range problem returns quickly after a full charge, the cell has degraded and needs replacement.
The replacement battery in my RC9001 seems to drain much faster than the original did — what causes that?
A stuck or jammed button is the most common cause. If any button is held down even slightly by debris or a warped keypad, the remote fires IR pulses continuously and the cell drains in a fraction of its normal cycle life. Press each button individually to confirm it springs back cleanly. If all buttons return freely, check the charging cable and port — a partial connection charges the cell less than fully each cycle, which compresses usable capacity over time.
