Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Moser ChroMini 1591 Series — 1.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (1590-7291)
This is a 1.2V, 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Moser ChroMini 1591, ChroMini 1591B, ChroMini 1591Q, and Ermila Bella 1590 hair clippers. It replaces OEM part numbers 1590-7291, 1591-0062, and 1591-0067. When the original cell degrades and the clipper loses cutting power or stops holding charge, this cell restores full cordless function.
- ChroMini 1591 and Ermila Bella 1590 platform: These models share the same single-cell Ni-MH architecture, 1.2V rail, and physical form factor — 46.60 x 14.20 x 14.20mm. The same cell fits all four variants without modification to the battery bay or connector orientation.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the ChroMini 1591 platform. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, completed a full charge cycle without fault, and the motor drew current at expected levels throughout the discharge curve.
- Moisture and the charging port: Dry the charging port completely before connecting to the charger. Water bridging the contacts causes a BMS protection trip that the clipper reports as a dead battery — not a charging fault. A dry cotton swab clears the contacts in seconds.
Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the ChroMini 1591
Ni-MH cells in daily-use clippers are vulnerable to shallow-cycle degradation. Charging the ChroMini 1591 after every short session — without running the cell down — causes the battery to lose usable capacity over weeks. The cell's voltage curve compresses, so the clipper cuts out earlier each use even though the indicator still reads mid-charge. A full discharge-to-cutoff followed by a complete charge cycle recalibrates the gauge and partially recovers lost capacity in a new replacement cell.
Motor speed dropping before the low-battery indicator activates
This is voltage sag under motor load — not a dead battery. As the Ni-MH cell ages, its internal resistance rises. Under the current draw of the clipper motor, terminal voltage drops below what the motor needs before the BMS registers a low-charge state. The indicator lags behind real capacity. Replacing the cell restores a low internal resistance and eliminates the sag. Confirm the new cell is fully charged before first use — charge until the indicator goes solid, then run one full cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ChroMini 1591 slows down halfway through a haircut but the battery indicator still shows charge — what's happening?
This is voltage sag from a degraded Ni-MH cell. As internal resistance rises in an old cell, the motor's current draw pulls terminal voltage down faster than the indicator can track, so the clipper bogs down while the gauge still reads mid-level. A new cell at low internal resistance eliminates the gap between indicated and actual charge. Charge the replacement fully before first use and run one complete discharge cycle to let the indicator recalibrate.
The ChroMini 1591 sat unused for a few months and now won't charge at all — is the battery gone?
Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and if the ChroMini 1591 sat long enough, the cell may have dropped below the BMS's minimum acceptance voltage — causing the charger to see it as a fault rather than a flat battery. We've seen cells in this state refuse the first charge attempt entirely. Connect the charger and leave it for a full cycle; some BMS units will trickle-charge a deep-discharged cell back into the acceptance window. If the indicator shows no response after two hours, the cell is below recovery threshold and needs replacement.
After cleaning my ChroMini 1591 under the tap, it stopped charging in the dock — did I damage the battery?
Water in the charging port bridges the contacts and triggers a BMS protection trip — the clipper reports it as a battery fault, not a moisture fault. Shake the excess water out, then use a dry cotton swab to clear both the port and dock contacts. Leave the clipper unpowered for at least 30 minutes before attempting to charge again. If the dock still shows no charging activity after the contacts are dry, inspect the dock pins for oxidation and clean them with a dry cloth before ruling out the battery.
