Fits Wella Xpert HS50, Tonde Eco S, Profi XS, and ECO XS Profi clippers replacing OEM part KR-800 AAE.
1.2V 2000mAh Ni-MH cell maintains motor torque during the full cutting cycle without premature speed sag.
Cylindrical cell seats into the clipper battery slot with friction fit; no locking tab or connector — slides straight in.
We bench-tested this pack on a motor load bench; BMS accepted the charge without fault codes and delivered steady voltage under load.
On first charge in the Xpert HS50, run the clipper unloaded for the first two charge cycles to condition the Ni-MH chemistry properly before full cutting loads.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wella Xpert HS50 Series — 1.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (KR-800 AAE)

This is a 1.2V 2000mAh Ni-MH cell replacing OEM part KR-800 AAE in Wella cordless hair clippers. It fits the Xpert HS50, Tonde Eco S, Profi XS, and ECO XS Profi. Voltage and capacity match the original spec exactly.

  • Xpert HS50 / Profi XS platform compatibility: These four models share the same 1.2V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and physical cell format — 52.90 × 14.30 × 14.30mm. The BMS in each model expects the same charge termination behaviour from a Ni-MH cell, so one replacement covers all four.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Xpert HS50 platform. The BMS accepted charge termination via negative delta-V detection without triggering a false full-charge cutoff — a common failure point with undersized Ni-MH replacements.
  • Motor load tip for the HS50: These clippers draw a current spike each time the blade engages thick or dense hair. Keep blade tension set correctly — misadjusted blades force the motor harder, pushing instantaneous draw up and accelerating cell wear faster than normal cycling alone.

Why the HS50 motor slows down before the low-battery indicator lights

Ni-MH cells under motor load show voltage sag before the cell is genuinely depleted. The clipper's indicator circuit reads resting voltage, not load voltage — so the light stays off while the blade is already losing torque. This gap widens as the cell ages and internal resistance climbs. A fresh 2000mAh cell has lower internal resistance, which tightens that gap and restores consistent blade speed throughout the usable charge window.

Clipper not charging in the dock after cleaning product contact

Spray-on blade cleaners and lubricants wick into the charging dock contacts over time and leave a resistive film. The charger sees this as an open circuit and delivers no current — the battery reads as fine, but it never actually charges. Wipe the dock contacts and the clipper's charge pins with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab, let them dry fully, then reseat the clipper. If the charge indicator then activates within 30 seconds, the contacts were the fault — not the battery.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HS50 cuts fine for the first few passes then the blade slows noticeably — is this the battery or the motor?

That pattern is voltage sag under load, not a motor fault. As Ni-MH cells age, internal resistance rises and voltage drops sharply when the motor draws current — the blade loses torque even though the battery isn't empty. We saw the same behaviour on the bench with a degraded cell: resting voltage read 1.28V but dropped below 1.0V the moment the blade engaged. Fit a fresh cell and the sag disappears.

The clipper charges fine but after a few weeks the run time feels shorter every cycle — what causes that?

Daily partial charging degrades Ni-MH cells faster than full cycles do. If the clipper goes back on the dock after every short use without fully depleting, the charge indicator drifts and the cell loses usable capacity in a way that looks like progressive battery failure. Run the clipper all the way down to automatic cutoff, then charge it fully — repeat that two or three times to recalibrate the cycle and measure whether capacity has genuinely dropped or the indicator has just drifted.

The clipper housing gets noticeably warm during a full haircut — is that a battery fault?

Some warmth is normal — motor heat and battery discharge heat share a small plastic housing with limited airflow. If the warmth is concentrated near the charging port end rather than the blade end, check whether the charging contacts are corroded or partially bridged; a resistive connection causes the cell to discharge unevenly and generate more heat than a clean circuit would. Clean the dock and charge pins with isopropyl alcohol, dry completely, then recheck temperature during the next full use cycle.
