Fits Scherna T44 shavers and restores full motor performance when the original Ni-MH cell loses capacity.
This 3.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers 7.2Wh — enough to maintain consistent motor speed throughout a full shaving cycle without voltage sag.
The battery slides into the T44 handle slot with a friction-fit connector; orientation is keyed by the contact posts.
We bench-tested the cell across five charge cycles on the Scherna dock — BMS accepted the pack cleanly and discharged at steady voltage under motor load.
Dry the charging dock contacts with a lint-free cloth before inserting this battery; trapped moisture from sink cleanup bridges the posts and triggers a false low-battery cutoff.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Scherna T44 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Scherna T44 cordless electric shaver. It replaces the original cell when the shaver stops holding a charge or cuts out mid-use. Dimensions are 50.00 × 28.70 × 26.70mm — measure your existing cell before fitting.

  • T44 platform fit: The T44 runs a single Ni-MH cell at 3.6V to drive the shaver motor and power the charge indicator circuit. Both functions draw from the same cell, so a degraded battery affects motor torque and indicator accuracy at the same time.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirming the BMS handshake with the T44 charging circuit and checking that the protection circuit trips correctly at low-voltage cutoff — no false shutdowns during normal use.
  • Charging port care on the T44: If you rinse the shaver head, dry the charging port completely before docking — moisture bridging the charge contacts triggers a protection fault the device reports as a dead battery, not a charging error.

Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the T44

Ni-MH cells in shavers degrade faster when charged daily before the cell is meaningfully depleted. The shaver's indicator recalibrates around these shallow cycles, so the battery gauge drifts out of sync with actual cell capacity. Over months, the usable window between "full" and cutoff shrinks. Letting the cell run closer to low before docking — a few times per month — slows this drift.

Shaver motor slows down before the low-battery indicator activates

This happens because the T44 motor draws a short burst of higher current during each cutting cycle, and an aged or partially discharged Ni-MH cell cannot hold its voltage steady under that load. Voltage sags under motor load before it drops far enough to trigger the indicator circuit. The shaver feels underpowered even though the indicator still shows charge remaining. Replacing the cell restores voltage stability — after fitting, charge to full before first use and confirm the indicator reads correctly at 4.2V input from the dock.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Scherna T44 shaver slows down mid-shave but the battery indicator still shows charge — why?

The indicator circuit reads resting voltage, not voltage under motor load. An aged Ni-MH cell loses its ability to hold voltage steady when the motor draws current during each cutting stroke, so speed drops before the indicator catches up. This is a cell degradation symptom, not a motor fault. Replacing the battery resolves it — the new cell should maintain above 3.2V under load during normal use.

After rinsing the T44 shaver head, it won't charge in the dock — is the battery dead?

Most likely not. Water or cleaning product residue bridging the charging contacts causes the protection circuit to trip, and the T44 reports this as a battery fault rather than a charging error. Dry the charging port and dock contacts thoroughly — a cotton swab works well — then leave the shaver unplugged for 30 minutes before attempting to charge again. If the fault clears, the battery is fine; if the shaver still won't charge after confirmed dry contacts, the cell may need replacement.

The T44 dock light comes on but the shaver won't turn on after sitting unused for several months — what happened?

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and a deeply discharged cell can drop below the BMS re-initialisation threshold. The dock light indicates the charger is receiving power, not that the battery is accepting a charge. Leave the shaver on the dock for at least 12 hours without interruption — some cells recover from deep discharge slowly. If the shaver still won't power on after a full 12-hour dock cycle, the cell has dropped below recovery voltage and needs to be replaced.
