Fits Garmin Venu and Fenix 6S Pro smartwatches, replaces OEM battery 361-00086-12.
3.8V, 170mAh lithium-polymer cell powers the Venu's AMOLED display, heart rate sensor, and GPS connectivity.
Connector is a two-pin magnetic pogo contact on the battery; orientation matters — align the contact plate flat against the watch mainboard.
We charged this cell on a Garmin dock and saw the fuel gauge IC register correctly after reaching 100% without fault codes.
Place the watch on its charger immediately after fitting this battery and charge to 100% before first use — the fuel gauge cannot calibrate without a full cycle from near-zero after a cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin Venu / Fenix 6S Pro — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (361-00086-12)

This is a 3.8V, 170mAh lithium-polymer cell that replaces the original battery in the Garmin Venu and Fenix 6S Pro smartwatches. It fits the same 30.50 × 19.50 × 3.20mm cavity and uses the same OEM part number 361-00086-12. If your watch no longer holds charge across a full day of normal use, this cell is the direct swap.

  • Venu and Fenix 6S Pro compatibility: Both watches run the same 3.8V battery rail, share the same connector pinout, and use a compatible BMS handshake — which is why Garmin uses one cell part number across both platforms. The 170mAh capacity matches OEM exactly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Venu unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, charge termination triggered cleanly at full voltage, and the fuel gauge IC updated correctly after one full charge cycle.
  • Post-swap charge requirement: After fitting this cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and charge to 100% before first use. The fuel gauge IC on this platform loses its reference point when the cell is swapped — it cannot calibrate the state-of-charge display without a full charge cycle from near-zero after installation.

Why the Venu reads 0% immediately after a battery swap

The Venu uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge by measuring current in and out of the cell. When you remove the old battery, the IC loses its stored reference entirely. A fresh cell at 3.8V open-circuit voltage gives the IC no usable baseline — it defaults to 0% or shuts down. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Charge the watch fully to 100% straight after fitting, and the IC will re-anchor its calibration to that full-charge endpoint.

Charge contacts not making on the magnetic charger after reassembly

If the watch sits on its charger but shows no charging activity after a battery swap, the charge contacts on the rear case have likely shifted slightly during reassembly. The Venu's magnetic charger relies on precise contact alignment — even 0.5mm of displacement breaks the circuit. Remove the watch from the charger, reseat it slowly, and confirm the magnet pulls the watch squarely into position. If charging still does not start, check that the rear cover is fully pressed flush before placing on the charger again.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Garmin Venu still shows 0% and won't turn on after I put the new battery in — did I get a dead cell?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The Venu's fuel gauge IC loses its charge reference entirely when the old battery is removed, so it defaults to 0% and the watch refuses to boot. Place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately after fitting the new cell and leave it until it reaches 100%. After one full charge cycle from near-zero, the IC re-calibrates and the watch will power on and display an accurate percentage.

The new battery is draining much faster than expected — down to low charge after less than a day with always-on display and continuous heart rate on.

Always-on display combined with continuous heart rate monitoring is the highest sustained draw this cell sees — those two features together pull significantly more current than standard watch-face-only mode. The 170mAh cell is the same capacity as the OEM unit, so if drain is noticeably worse than when the watch was new, check whether GPS is running in the background via the activity settings. Disable always-on display or switch heart rate to smart mode rather than continuous, and drain will drop to normal multi-day levels.

My Venu stopped pairing with my phone after I replaced the battery — Bluetooth just won't reconnect.

Removing the battery clears the active BLE session entirely, and the phone still holds the old pairing record. On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings, forget the Garmin Venu device, then restart the watch by holding the side button until it powers on fully. Open the Garmin Connect app and run a fresh pairing from the app's device menu — this establishes a clean session and the watch will reconnect normally.
