Replaces Bose part numbers 080061, 080065, and 829049-0210 for the Soundlink Revolve+ 2.
7.4V, 2600mAh capacity sustains audio output without voltage sag during high-volume playback on this speaker.
Connector accepts the proprietary Bose charging dock; battery slides into the cylindrical housing with no locking tab.
We bench-tested the cell at full charge through a sustained 10-watt audio load; the BMS held voltage stable without cutoff.
On first charge with the Soundlink Revolve+ 2, discharge the battery to below 20% before recharging — constant top-off charging without full cycles accelerates capacity fade on the fuel gauge circuit and shortens reported playtime.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bose SoundLink Revolve+ 2 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (080061)

This 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Bose SoundLink Revolve+ 2 portable Bluetooth speaker. It fits OEM part numbers 080061, 080065, and 829049-0210. When the original cell degrades after repeated charge cycles, swapping this pack restores full speaker function without replacing the entire unit.

  • SoundLink Revolve+ 2 fit: The Revolve+ 2 uses a dual-cell 7.4V pack with a proprietary BMS handshake that monitors cell balance and communicates state-of-charge to the speaker firmware. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector pinout so the speaker's charge indicator and protection circuit operate as expected.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the Revolve+ 2 platform and confirmed the BMS completed full charge termination without fault codes. Cell balance across both cells remained within 20mV at top-of-charge.
  • Monthly discharge cycle for the Revolve+ 2: If this speaker sits on a desk and gets topped off daily, discharge it below 20% at least once a month before recharging. Constant shallow cycling causes fuel gauge drift — the charge indicator reads full while actual capacity has already dropped significantly.

Audio distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty on the Revolve+ 2

The Revolve+ 2 amplifier draws a sharp current spike at high volume. As the cell ages and internal resistance rises, that spike causes a voltage sag that the amplifier sees before the BMS triggers low-battery cutoff. The speaker clips the audio signal to protect the amp — which sounds like distortion or a crackling output — even though the indicator still shows remaining charge. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance eliminates the sag. After fitting this replacement, confirm the speaker plays clean at full volume down to below 3.5V per cell before the low-battery warning appears.

Revolve+ 2 won't wake from USB-C when the pack has been deeply discharged

Li-ion cells that drop below roughly 2.5V per cell fall outside the minimum acceptance voltage for USB-C Power Delivery negotiation. The charger and speaker exchange no handshake, so the LED stays dark and the speaker appears completely dead. Connect the original Bose charging cable — not a third-party USB-C PD charger — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without interruption. The onboard pre-charge circuit trickle-feeds the cell back above the PD threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the LED still shows no activity after 30 minutes, the cell has been held below 2.5V long enough that recovery is unlikely and the pack needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Revolve+ 2 shows full charge but the audio drops out after about an hour of use — is that the battery?

Yes, that pattern points to capacity fade from shallow cycling. When a Li-ion pack is repeatedly topped off without ever being discharged past 50%, the fuel gauge drifts — the indicator reports full but the usable capacity has already shrunk. The speaker then hits low-voltage cutoff far sooner than the display suggests. Fit a replacement pack and run it down below 20% before the first full recharge to recalibrate the gauge.

The Bluetooth cuts out at high volume but reconnects when I turn the volume down — what's causing that?

A degraded cell has higher internal resistance than a fresh one. At high volume the amplifier and Bluetooth radio draw current simultaneously, and that combined spike causes a voltage sag across the worn cell. The BMS interprets the sag as a low-voltage event and briefly cuts power to non-essential circuits — including the radio. Dropping the volume reduces current draw enough that the sag stays within safe limits. Replacing the battery with a fresh 2600mAh cell reduces internal resistance and eliminates the sag under combined amp and radio load.

The speaker feels noticeably warm through the fabric housing during long play sessions — is that normal or a battery issue?

Some warmth is expected because the amplifier and the discharging Li-ion cell both generate heat inside a sealed fabric enclosure with limited airflow. The concern is when warmth becomes hot to the touch, which signals either a cell with elevated internal resistance dissipating excess energy as heat, or the amplifier working harder to compensate for voltage sag. Check that the speaker's ventilation ports on the base are not blocked. If the housing stays hot even at moderate volume on a new battery, verify the speaker firmware is current — Bose firmware updates have historically included amplifier efficiency adjustments that reduce thermal output.
