Why the Revolve+ 2 shuts off at high volume even on a charged battery

The speaker interprets the voltage dip as a critically low cell and shuts down as a protection measure. A fresh 3400mAh pack with low internal resistance handles those transient draws without the sag, keeping voltage above the cutoff.

Speaker shows full charge but audio starts distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty

This is amplifier clipping caused by voltage sag, not a software glitch. As a degraded cell discharges, voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge tracks — the amplifier hits its minimum supply voltage before the indicator reaches the low-battery zone. At that point the amp clips the audio waveform, producing crackling or distortion even though the display still shows bars remaining. Replacing the cell returns the discharge curve to spec and the amplifier gets clean voltage through the full cycle. Confirm the new pack is seated and the data connector is fully clicked before charging.

No — the cell has self-discharged below the USB-C PD minimum acceptance voltage, and the charger won't negotiate power delivery to a pack it can't handshake with. Leave the cable plugged in for 15–20 minutes without expecting any response; the onboard trickle circuit will slowly bring the cell up to a voltage where normal charging kicks in. If the LED still shows nothing after 30 minutes, re-seat the battery connector and try again. You're looking for the cell to recover past roughly 3.0V per cell (6.0V pack) before the BMS allows full charge current.

My Revolve+ 2 runs noticeably less long than it used to even after fitting the new battery — did I get a faulty pack?

Likely not — this is fuel gauge drift from shallow cycling on the old pack, and the gauge is still calibrated to that degraded profile. Run the speaker from full charge all the way down to auto-shutoff without interruption, then charge it fully in one unbroken session. That single full cycle re-anchors the fuel gauge to the new cell's actual capacity. If playtime is still short after two full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated and no fault LED is showing.

The Revolve+ 2 feels noticeably warm through the fabric housing during long listening sessions — is the new battery overheating?

Some warmth is normal — the speaker housing traps heat from both the amplifier and the discharging cell, and the Revolve+ 2's cylindrical fabric wrap has limited airflow. The concern is heat that makes the housing uncomfortable to hold or that triggers an automatic shutoff. If that happens, stand the speaker upright on a hard surface away from soft furnishings so the base vents can move air. If the speaker shuts off from heat with the new pack at moderate volume, re-check that the battery connector is fully seated — a loose connection increases contact resistance and generates additional heat at the joint.
