Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Harman/Kardon Neo / HKNEOBRNBSG — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (02-553-3494)
This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Harman/Kardon Neo Bluetooth speaker. It fits the Neo and HKNEOBRNBSG variants. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the speaker shuts off unexpectedly during playback.
- Neo and HKNEOBRNBSG compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell Li-Polymer architecture with identical connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol — one battery covers both SKUs without any modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Neo platform. The onboard BMS accepted the pack without faulting, balanced charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and protection cutoff activated cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
- Fuel gauge reset after install: After fitting the new cell, run the speaker down until it auto-shuts off, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The Neo's fuel gauge IC needs one full cycle to recalibrate — skipping this causes the charge indicator to read inaccurately from day one.
Audio distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty
As a Li-Polymer cell ages, its internal resistance climbs. At moderate-to-high volume, the amplifier draws a short burst of current that the weakened cell can't deliver cleanly, causing the terminal voltage to sag below the amp's operating floor. The audio stage clips under that sag — you hear distortion even though the indicator still shows 20–30% charge remaining. Replacing the cell eliminates the sag; if distortion persists after a fresh battery, check that the speaker firmware is current, as some Neo units shipped with aggressive power-save thresholds that were patched later.
Speaker won't wake from USB after sitting unused for weeks
A deeply discharged Li-Polymer cell can drop below the USB-C PD minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V — at which point the charger controller on the Neo refuses to initiate a charge session and the speaker appears completely dead. This is a protection circuit response, not a fault in the port or the cable. Connect the speaker to a 5V USB-A source rather than a USB-C PD charger; the lower-power input often coaxes the BMS out of deep-discharge lockout after 10–15 minutes. If the cell has been below 2.5V for an extended period and still won't respond, the cell itself is unrecoverable and requires replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Harman/Kardon Neo shows full charge but the audio cuts out after about an hour — is that the battery?
Yes — this is a fuel gauge drift symptom, not a hardware fault. When the Neo is topped off constantly before dropping below 50%, the coulomb counter inside the BMS loses calibration and reports more charge than the cell actually holds. Run the speaker down until it auto-shuts off, then charge it to 100% without interruption. If the cutoff point still arrives well before the indicator reaches empty after two full cycles, the original cell has degraded and needs replacing.
Bluetooth drops out at high volume even with a new battery installed — what's causing it?
At high volume the amplifier draws a sharp current spike on top of the Bluetooth radio's steady draw. If the new cell hasn't completed its first full calibration cycle, momentary voltage sag under that combined load can dip low enough to cause the radio module to reset. Discharge the speaker fully, charge it uninterrupted to 100%, then repeat once more. After two complete cycles the cell's internal resistance stabilises and the sag under peak load narrows — if Bluetooth still drops, test at a lower volume to confirm whether the amplifier's current demand is outpacing the 1000mAh cell's delivery rate.
The Neo gets noticeably warm on the side during long listening sessions — is that a battery problem?
Some heat is normal — the amplifier IC and the Li-Polymer cell both generate heat during sustained discharge, and the Neo's compact fabric enclosure traps it. What you're feeling is the combined thermal output of both sources. If the speaker becomes too hot to hold comfortably or shuts off with heat-related error behaviour, the cell may be faulty; a healthy 1000mAh Li-Polymer pack at normal discharge rates should not exceed roughly 40–45°C at the surface. Check that the speaker's ventilation points aren't blocked by fabric or a case, and avoid leaving it on soft surfaces like beds or cushions during extended playback.
