Fits JBL Xtreme 2 portable speaker; replaces OEM part SUN-INTE-103, 2INR19/66-2, ID1019.
7.4V 6800mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full speaker output without voltage sag during high-volume playback.
Connector slides into the battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab seats flush against the housing clip.
We bench-tested the pack on the Xtreme 2 charge circuit; BMS accepted the handshake on first insertion and held steady discharge curve.
On first use after extended storage, run the speaker at 50% volume for two playback cycles before pushing maximum output.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

JBL Xtreme 2 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SUN-INTE-103)

This 7.4V, 6800mAh (50.32Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the JBL Xtreme 2 portable Bluetooth speaker. It fits JBLXTREME2BLKAM and JBLXTREME2BLUAM units. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge or fails to power the speaker at all.

  • Xtreme 2 fit confirmation: All three Xtreme 2 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. This pack matches at 138.50 × 40.00 × 21.00mm and carries OEM part references SUN-INTE-103, 2INR19/66-2, and ID1019.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a JBL Xtreme 2 unit. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, balanced both cells correctly, and the fuel gauge tracked accurately across the full state-of-charge range.
  • Monthly discharge cycle for Xtreme 2 users: If you top off this speaker before it drops below 50% every session, the fuel gauge will drift within a few months. Let it fall below 20% at least once a month before plugging in — this resets the coulomb counter and keeps capacity readings accurate.

Xtreme 2 audio cutting out at high volume on a new battery

At high volume, the Xtreme 2's amplifier and Bluetooth radio draw current simultaneously. If the battery has any internal resistance — from age or a degraded cell — voltage sags under that combined load. The BMS interprets the sag as a low-battery event and throttles output before the indicator shows empty. A fresh cell with low internal resistance holds the rail stable and prevents that premature cutoff. If you still see dropouts after fitting a new pack, check that the connector is fully seated.

JBL Xtreme 2 won't wake from USB-C after sitting discharged for weeks

Li-ion cells that sit in a deeply discharged state can drop below the USB-C PD minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V per cell. At that point the charger handshake never completes and the speaker appears completely dead. Connect the speaker to a USB-C power source and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes — the BMS trickle-charges the cells back above the acceptance threshold before switching to full charge current. If the indicator LED still does not light after 30 minutes, measure cell voltage at the connector; below 5.0V across the pack means the cells are not recovering and the battery needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

My JBL Xtreme 2 shows a full charge but audio gets weak and distorted before the battery indicator drops — what's happening?

This is amplifier clipping under voltage sag, not a fuel gauge fault. As the cell ages, internal resistance rises — under heavy amp draw the terminal voltage drops enough to clip the audio signal even though the displayed charge level still reads high. Fitting a fresh 6800mAh cell with lower internal resistance restores a stable voltage rail and stops the distortion. If clipping still occurs on a new battery, check the USB-C port for debris causing an intermittent charge connection.

The Xtreme 2 gets noticeably warm on the sides during long outdoor sessions — is that the battery or the amplifier?

Both contribute, but the heat concentrates where the amplifier board and battery pack share the same enclosed fabric housing with limited airflow. The amplifier generates significant heat at sustained high volume, and the battery adds discharge heat on top of that. Neither source alone should cause concern, but if the speaker becomes too hot to hold comfortably, drop the volume one or two steps — thermal throttling will activate before any damage occurs. Let it cool with the speaker upright so heat can escape through the passive vent points at the ends.

My Xtreme 2 battery capacity seems to have dropped significantly — it used to last much longer and now it fades fast even after a full charge.

Shallow cycling is the most common cause — if the speaker is recharged from 60–80% every time without ever fully discharging, the Li-ion cells degrade faster and the fuel gauge drifts, making a partially degraded pack appear full. Before replacing the battery, run one full discharge below 20% followed by a complete charge to see if the gauge recalibrates. If capacity is still noticeably reduced after that cycle, the original cell has degraded beyond recovery and a replacement 6800mAh pack will restore full charge capacity.
