Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG Music Flow P5 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EAC63100301)
This 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the LG Music Flow P5 and Music Flow P5 Strap portable Bluetooth speakers. It also fits the NP5558MC and NP5550B variants. When the original cell degrades, the speaker loses cordless operation — this battery restores it.
- Music Flow P5 and P5 Strap compatibility: These two models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 68.60 × 38.00 × 6.40mm cell fits the physical bay without modification, and the protection circuit communicates with the speaker's charge controller correctly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the P5 platform and confirmed the BMS triggered protection cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold. The charge controller accepted the pack without faults or error indicators.
- Fuel gauge calibration after install: After fitting this battery, run the speaker down until it shuts off automatically, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% before using it again. Skipping this step causes the fuel gauge to report inaccurate charge levels from the first cycle.
Capacity fade from constant top-off charging on the P5
The P5 is typically used as a desk or shelf speaker, which means most owners plug it in whenever it drops below 80%. Shallow cycling — never letting the cell discharge below 50% — causes fuel gauge drift over time and accelerates capacity loss in the Li-ion cell. The battery's coulomb counter loses accuracy when it never sees a full charge-discharge cycle. Discharge the speaker below 20% at least once a month before recharging to prevent this.
Audio distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty
At high volume, the amplifier draws a sharp current spike that momentarily drags cell voltage below the clean-power threshold — even when the indicator still shows charge remaining. The speaker's audio circuit clips under this voltage sag, producing distortion that sounds like speaker damage but clears immediately at lower volume. A degraded or deeply cycled cell sags harder under the same load. If distortion appears consistently at high volume, check resting cell voltage — a healthy cell should read above 3.6V at rest.

Frequently Asked Questions
My LG Music Flow P5 shows a full charge but the audio cuts out or distorts after about an hour of play — is this the battery?
Yes — this is voltage sag under amplifier load, not a charge indicator fault. As the cell ages, internal resistance rises and the cell can't sustain voltage when the amp draws peak current at loud passages. The indicator reads remaining capacity at rest, not under load, so it still shows bars while the cell fails under demand. Fit a new cell and run a full calibration cycle — discharge to auto-shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%.
The P5 won't respond to USB charging at all — the charge LED doesn't come on and the speaker stays dead.
A deeply discharged Li-ion cell can drop below the minimum voltage the USB charge controller will accept, typically around 2.5V. At that point the controller refuses to initiate charging as a safety measure, so the LED stays off and nothing happens on the speaker side. Leaving a Bluetooth speaker stored without charge for several months is the most common cause. If the cell has been below cutoff long enough, recovery charging won't work and the cell needs replacing.
Bluetooth drops out specifically when the volume is pushed high on the P5 — reconnects on its own at lower volume.
The amplifier and Bluetooth radio both draw from the same cell, and at high volume the combined current spike causes a momentary voltage dip. When cell voltage sags far enough, the radio's power supply drops below its operating floor and the Bluetooth link drops — it reconnects once volume backs off and voltage recovers. This happens sooner on a degraded cell with higher internal resistance. Measure resting cell voltage with a multimeter; below 3.5V at rest with a partial charge confirms the cell needs replacement.
