Fits Logitech S715i and S315i portable speakers, replacing OEM battery part numbers 180AAHC3TMX, GP180AAHC31MX, GG139, 880-000212, S-00100, 984-000134, 984-000135, 984-000142, and 993-000459.
This 3.6V 1500mAh Ni-MH cell delivers 5.4Wh — the original capacity rating for this speaker model across its full portable audio runtime.
Battery slides into the rear compartment with a single-tab locking mechanism; connector is a two-pin JST-type plug seated vertically on the contact board.
We bench-tested the pack under load simulation and confirmed the BMS accepts full charge cycles without cutoff faults or contact bounce on insertion.
Ni-MH packs like this one lose capacity faster under constant top-off charging; discharge the speaker to below 20% once monthly before recharging to prevent fuel gauge drift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Logitech S715i / S315i — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (180AAHC3TMX)

This 3.6V, 1500mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original rechargeable cell in the Logitech S715i and S315i portable speakers. It fits the internal battery compartment directly and restores power to speakers where the original pack no longer holds a usable charge. Capacity figure is 1500mAh (5.4Wh) as specified in the product data.

  • S715i and S315i platform fit: Both models share the same 3.6V Ni-MH cell format, connector pitch, and internal BMS handshake requirements — which is why one battery covers both. The cell dimensions (49.66 × 28.70 × 26.78mm) match the original housing cavity without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the S715i platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, held charge across multiple cycles, and delivered stable voltage through the amplifier and Bluetooth radio simultaneously.
  • Ni-MH discharge discipline for the S715i: Ni-MH cells in always-docked speakers develop voltage depression when repeatedly topped off from 70–80% without a full cycle. Run the S715i down below 20% at least once a month before recharging — this keeps cell voltage balanced and prevents premature capacity loss specific to Ni-MH chemistry.

Audio distortion before the battery indicator reaches empty on the S715i

The S715i amplifier draws a current spike at higher volume levels. When the Ni-MH cell is aged or partially sulfated, internal resistance rises and voltage sags under that spike — even if the fuel gauge still reads 30–40%. The amplifier clips before the battery indicator hits zero because the cell can no longer sustain the instantaneous current demand. Replacing the cell restores the voltage floor; confirm the pack is holding above 3.4V under load after a full charge.

Speaker shows full charge immediately after plugging in — then dies within minutes

This is a classic Ni-MH memory effect symptom on a cell that has been shallow-cycled for months. The battery reads full because the charger circuit sees voltage recover quickly, but actual usable capacity has collapsed. The BMS is not faulty — the cell itself can no longer sustain discharge. Fitting a fresh 1500mAh cell and running two full discharge-recharge cycles will reset the baseline and restore normal behaviour.

Frequently Asked Questions

My S715i Bluetooth keeps cutting out when I turn the volume up past halfway — is the battery causing this?

Yes, this is a battery issue, not a Bluetooth fault. At high volume, the amplifier and Bluetooth radio draw current simultaneously, and an aged Ni-MH cell with rising internal resistance cannot sustain both loads without voltage sagging. The radio drops first because the amplifier takes priority in the power budget. Fit a replacement cell and confirm the pack holds above 3.4V under combined amp and radio load.

The S715i gets noticeably warm through the fabric grille during long sessions — is that normal with a new battery?

Some warmth is expected — the amplifier generates heat during sustained playback, and the Ni-MH cell adds its own discharge heat in the enclosed housing. If the speaker is hot rather than warm, and audio quality is degrading at the same time, the cell may be under strain from high internal resistance. A healthy replacement cell at 1500mAh running a full charge cycle should stay warm, not hot, during normal playback in a ventilated position.

I left my S715i unused for several months and now it won't charge at all — what happened?

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and if the S715i sat long enough for the cell to drop below the charger circuit's minimum acceptance voltage, the charger will not initiate a charge cycle. This is a deep-discharge lock-out, not a dead charger. Try connecting the speaker via USB for 10–15 minutes to trickle a small amount of current into the cell, then switch to the standard charger — if the cell is genuinely depleted past recovery, replace it with a fresh 1500mAh 3.6V Ni-MH pack.
