Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Logitech UE MegaBoom — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (533-000116)
This 7.4V 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Logitech UE MegaBoom portable Bluetooth speaker (S-00147). It fits both OEM part numbers 533-000116 and 533-000138. Capacity is rated at 25.16Wh, matching the original cell spec.
- UE MegaBoom and S-00147 compatibility: Both the UE MegaBoom and S-00147 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — this pack covers both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a UE MegaBoom unit. The BMS accepted the pack without error flags, and the fuel gauge tracked state-of-charge accurately across the full discharge curve.
- Monthly discharge cycle — UE MegaBoom specific: The MegaBoom's always-on Bluetooth standby drains the cell slowly even when not playing audio. Let the pack drop below 20% at least once a month before recharging — constant top-off charging without a full discharge causes fuel gauge drift on this model and accelerates capacity fade.
Why the UE MegaBoom shows full charge but audio cuts out after an hour
The fuel gauge IC in the MegaBoom calibrates its charge estimate against the battery's internal resistance. When the original cell ages, resistance rises and the gauge loses accuracy — it reports 100% based on a baseline that no longer matches the actual cell capacity. The result is a full-charge indicator that collapses within an hour of real audio draw. Replacing the cell resets the baseline, but the gauge needs one full discharge-to-shutdown and recharge cycle to recalibrate to the new pack.
Audio distorting at high volume before the battery indicator reaches empty
At high volume, the MegaBoom's amplifier pulls a sharp current spike that causes momentary voltage sag on a degraded or deeply discharged pack. The amplifier clips under that sag, producing audible distortion before the battery LED has signalled low charge. This is a voltage delivery problem, not an audio hardware fault. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance holds the voltage rail stable under amplifier load — charge the new pack fully before the first high-volume session to confirm the distortion clears.

Frequently Asked Questions
My UE MegaBoom won't wake up from USB even after charging overnight — is the battery dead or is something else wrong?
When a Li-ion cell discharges below roughly 2.5V per cell (around 5V pack voltage), the USB-C charge controller on the MegaBoom won't initiate a charge session because the cell voltage sits below the PD minimum acceptance threshold. The battery isn't necessarily dead — it's in deep discharge lockout. Connect the speaker to a 5V 1A USB-A charger rather than a high-wattage USB-C brick, leave it for 30 minutes without pressing any buttons, then check for the LED charge indicator. If the LED activates, the BMS has recovered and normal charging can resume from that point.
My UE MegaBoom Bluetooth drops out specifically when the volume is above 75% — it was fine at lower levels with the old battery.
The amplifier in the MegaBoom draws a higher current burst at loud volume, and that spike competes with the Bluetooth radio's power draw on the same battery rail. On a degraded or freshly installed pack that hasn't fully charged, combined amp-plus-radio current pull causes a brief voltage sag that disrupts the Bluetooth subsystem. Charge the new pack to 100% before testing at high volume. If dropout persists after a full charge, run one complete discharge-to-shutdown cycle to let the fuel gauge recalibrate — after that cycle the BMS manages current distribution more accurately under peak load.
The UE MegaBoom feels noticeably warm on the fabric during long outdoor sessions — is that the battery or the amplifier?
Both sources contribute. The amplifier generates heat during sustained loud playback, and the Li-ion cell adds discharge heat inside the same enclosed housing — the fabric traps both. Normal surface warmth is expected, but if the speaker becomes hot to the touch and audio quality drops, the thermal protection circuit is throttling output to protect the cell. Keep the speaker out of direct sunlight during extended play, and avoid laying it flat on a hot surface — standing it upright on the rubber end cap allows more airflow around the housing and reduces thermal buildup at the battery.
