Fits Skullcandy Ambush portable speaker, replacing OEM part AEC633448.
3.7V, 1300mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers 4.81Wh for sustained Bluetooth audio playback.
Connector seats into the Ambush battery slot with no modifications required.
We bench-tested this cell in the Ambush chassis; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and discharged flat without cutoff errors.
Discharge the Ambush below 20% capacity once monthly before recharging to prevent fuel gauge drift and capacity fade on shallow-cycle Li-Po chemistry.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Skullcandy Ambush — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AEC633448)

This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-Polymer cell built to replace the original battery in the Skullcandy Ambush portable Bluetooth speaker. It fits the Ambush (Y22-SK2013008) and uses OEM part number AEC633448. Dimensions are 48.75 × 33.32 × 8.66mm — measure your existing cell before fitting if unsure.

  • Ambush platform fit: The Ambush uses a single flat Li-Polymer pouch cell at 3.7V nominal to power both the amplifier board and the Bluetooth radio. This cell matches that voltage rail, connector footprint, and physical envelope so it slots into the existing battery bay.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Ambush charge controller and confirmed the BMS accepted the pack without fault flags. Charge current ramped normally through CC/CV phases and the fuel gauge reported capacity correctly after two full cycles.
  • Monthly full-discharge tip for the Ambush: The Ambush is commonly left on a desk and topped off before it drops below 50%. Do this consistently and the fuel gauge drifts — the speaker reads full but cuts earlier than expected. Let the cell discharge below 20% at least once a month before recharging to keep the gauge calibrated.

Audio distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty on the Ambush

At high volume the Ambush amplifier draws a short burst of current that the battery cannot sustain cleanly as the cell ages. Voltage sags under that peak draw and the amplifier clips — you hear distortion before the LED ever signals low battery. This is a cell-level problem, not a speaker fault. Replacing the cell restores the voltage headroom the amp needs; a healthy cell holds above 3.5V under load where distortion stops.

Ambush not waking from USB-C when the battery has fully drained

If the Ambush sits discharged for several weeks the cell voltage can drop below 2.5V — the threshold where the charge controller refuses to begin a charge cycle as a safety measure. The speaker appears completely dead on USB-C. To recover, connect the cable and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing any button; some charge controllers run a trickle pre-charge at low current to bring the cell back above the acceptance threshold before switching to normal CC charge. If the indicator still does not light after 30 minutes, the cell has self-discharged past recovery and replacement is the only fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Ambush speaker shows a full charge but the audio cuts out after a short while — what's going on?

This is fuel gauge drift caused by shallow cycling — the Ambush was repeatedly topped off before dropping below 50%, so the gauge no longer reflects true capacity. The cell still charges but the reported state-of-charge is inaccurate. Run the speaker down below 20% before the next charge to force a recalibration cycle. If the problem persists after two or three full cycles, the original cell has degraded and needs replacing.

The Ambush Bluetooth drops out or stutters specifically when audio is loud — is this a speaker fault?

It is not a speaker fault. At high volume the amplifier and Bluetooth radio are both drawing peak current simultaneously, and an aged cell cannot hold voltage steady under that combined load — the radio momentarily loses power and drops. A healthy cell at 3.7V nominal sustains both draws without sag. Fit a new cell and test at the same volume level; dropout should stop.

My Ambush feels noticeably warm on the fabric housing after a long play session — is that normal?

Some warmth is expected — the amplifier generates heat during playback and the battery cell adds discharge heat inside a fabric-wrapped enclosure with limited airflow. What is not normal is heat you cannot hold your hand near, or warmth that persists more than a few minutes after you pause playback. If the housing stays hot at rest, the cell may be failing internally and drawing excess current. Remove it from charge immediately and replace the battery before further use.
