Fits Nexto DI ND2700, DI ND2725, ND2325 digital storage devices replacing OEM part numbers NENA-21120, NENA-PWBT10001, and PWBT-10001.
Delivers 3.7V at 2000mAh capacity, providing the same power output as the original battery for full wireless operation during field backup and archiving cycles.
Connector slots into the battery compartment with positive and negative contacts facing downward; no locking tab present on this housing design.
Bench testing showed the BMS initialized on first insertion without delay; charge acceptance tracked normally across full discharge cycles with no premature cutoff observed.
After installation, run the ND2700 through one complete charge-discharge cycle before field use—the storage management firmware requires this cycle to calibrate its capacity estimate.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nexto DI ND2700 / DI ND2725 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (NENA-21120)

This 3.7V, 2000mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the internal cell in the Nexto DI ND2700 and DI ND2725 portable storage devices. It also fits the ND2325 and related models sharing the same battery bay and connector. When the original cell degrades, this replacement restores field operation for backing up memory cards without a computer.

  • ND2700 / ND2725 / ND2325 platform: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, battery connector, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell revision covers the full range — no adapter or firmware workaround needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the ND2700 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags, and the charge controller stepped through its standard constant-current to constant-voltage transition cleanly.
  • First-cycle calibration on the ND2700: After fitting this battery, let the device charge to 100% via its USB port before use. The ND2700 firmware reads state-of-charge from a coulomb counter that resets during installation — skipping this step causes the capacity bar to display incorrectly from the first session.

ND2700 battery error immediately after fitting a new cell

The ND2700's battery management firmware checks cell voltage and internal resistance at startup. A new lithium-polymer cell that has been stored at partial charge can read slightly outside the expected window, triggering a transient error on first power-on. This is not a fault with the cell. Connect the device to USB power and allow the charger to begin the constant-current phase — the error clears once the firmware confirms a rising charge curve above 3.5V and accepts the new cell as valid.

Capacity gauge reads low after replacing the ND2700 battery

The ND2700 stores its capacity estimate in firmware, not in the cell itself. Installing a new 2000mAh cell does not automatically reset that estimate — the device may show 60–70% full capacity until a complete charge-discharge calibration cycle is run. Charge fully to 100%, then allow the device to run through a normal backup operation until the low-battery warning triggers. Recharge fully after that point. The firmware recalculates the 2000mAh baseline from the measured cycle and the gauge corrects to rated capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ND2700 shows a battery error right after I installed the new cell — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The ND2700 firmware validates the battery by checking that voltage rises steadily from the start of a charge cycle. A freshly installed cell sitting at partial storage charge can fall outside that expected window at cold boot. Connect the device to USB, let it begin charging, and the error clears once the firmware sees voltage climb past 3.5V and confirms the cell is accepting current normally.

The capacity bar on my ND2700 is stuck at around 65% even though the battery is brand new — why?

The ND2700 holds its capacity estimate in firmware and does not reset it when you swap the physical cell. The gauge is reading from the old stored data, not the new 2000mAh cell. Run one complete calibration cycle: charge fully to 100%, use the device until the low-battery alert fires, then recharge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the firmware recalculates from measured data and the gauge corrects to rated capacity.

My ND2700 powers off mid-backup even though the gauge showed plenty of charge remaining — what causes that?

This happens when the coulomb counter accumulated error over many cycles with the old, degraded cell and the firmware's low-voltage cutoff threshold no longer lines up with actual remaining capacity. The BMS cuts power at 3.0V to protect the cell, but the gauge still showed a misleading percentage above that point. After fitting this replacement cell, run the full charge-discharge calibration cycle described above — one complete cycle resets the counter and realigns the cutoff to the correct point in the 3.7V charge curve.
