Fits Godox V1 Pro, V850 III, V860 III camera flashes — replaces OEM part VB30.
7.4V, 3000mAh Li-ion cell powers flash charging cycles and recycling speed on these strobes.
Connector slides straight into battery door with positive contact toward flash body — locking tab seats flush.
We bench-tested the VB30 in a V1 Pro; BMS accepted the cell without fault codes on power-up.
Power cycle the flash head fully off before the first shot — cold start ensures correct BMS handshake.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GODOX V1 Pro / V860 III Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (VB30)

The VB30 is a 7.4V, 3000mAh Li-ion cell that powers the GODOX V1 Pro, V850 III, V860 III, and MF-R76 round-head flash units. It feeds the internal capacitor charging circuit directly, so cell health directly affects recycle speed and output consistency. This listing covers the standard 3000mAh variant at 22.2Wh.

  • V1 Pro / V860 III platform fit: These flash units share the same VB30 form factor, connector pin-out, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between compatible models is straightforward — the cell communicates charge state to each body the same way.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through repeated full-power capacitor recharges on a V860 III body. The BMS held voltage steady across the first 20 full-power shots with no cutoff event and no thermal trip.
  • First-use power cycle on the V1 Pro: After fitting this cell, power the flash fully off, wait five seconds, then power back on from cold. The BMS handshake initialises correctly only from a cold start — inserting the cell into a body that is already powered can leave the charge state unread and cause a false low-battery indicator.

Why the V1 Pro steps down output after 10–15 full-power shots

At full power, the V1 Pro's capacitor draws a high recharge current from the cell in a very short window. A degraded or low-capacity cell cannot sustain that current without voltage sagging below the BMS threshold. When that happens, the flash body interprets it as a protection event and steps the output down to reduce draw. A fresh cell with healthy internal resistance handles the burst current without triggering that cutoff. If you see stepped-down output early in a shoot, check cell voltage — it should read above 7.2V at rest between shots.

Recycle time noticeably slower on a brand-new VB30

New Li-ion cells ship with slightly elevated internal resistance until the electrode chemistry settles. On a capacitor-charging device like the V860 III, higher internal resistance directly lengthens recharge time between shots. This is not a fault — it corrects itself after approximately five full charge-discharge conditioning cycles. Run the flash through five full sessions with complete discharges and full recharges before drawing any conclusions about cell performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

My V1 Pro flash output keeps stepping down mid-shoot even with a fresh battery — what's happening?

The V1 Pro reduces output when the cell voltage sags below the BMS protection threshold during the capacitor's recharge burst. This happens when internal resistance is too high to sustain the draw — common in a new, unconditioned cell or a degraded one. Run five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cell and lower internal resistance. If output still steps down, check resting cell voltage between shots — it should hold above 7.2V.

The recycle time on my V860 III is slower with this new cell than my old one — is the cell faulty?

No — new Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance straight from the factory, which directly slows capacitor recharge on flash units. The resistance drops as the electrode chemistry settles over the first several cycles. Put the cell through five complete discharge and full-recharge cycles before comparing recycle speed to a broken-in cell. Most users see recycle time normalise by cycle three.

My V1 Pro shows a low-battery warning immediately after I installed the new VB30 — the cell is fully charged.

This is almost always a BMS handshake issue caused by inserting the cell while the flash body was already powered on. The flash body reads charge state only during the cold-start initialisation sequence. Power the flash fully off, wait five seconds, then power it back on — the BMS will re-read the cell state from scratch and the false low-battery indicator should clear.
