Fits Spectra TSC7 surveying instruments and replaces OEM part number 121300.
7.4V 3100mAh Li-ion delivers full power for extended field measurement sessions without capacity loss.
Connector slides straight into the TSC7 battery slot with positive and negative contacts aligned.
We bench-tested this pack under sustained GPS and data-logging load; BMS held voltage stable throughout discharge cycle.
After installing this cell, run the TSC7 calibration routine from the main menu before fieldwork — the instrument maps battery state during calibration, and skipping this step triggers premature low-battery warnings on the first measurement session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Spectra TSC7 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (121300)

This is a 7.4V 3100mAh Li-ion battery that replaces OEM part 121300 in the Spectra TSC7 mobile data collector. The TSC7 is a field survey instrument used for GPS data logging and construction layout work. It draws continuous power through GPS, sensors, and display — all running from a single battery pack.

  • TSC7 platform fit: The TSC7 uses a 7.4V two-cell Li-ion pack with a specific connector and BMS handshake. This replacement matches that cell configuration and communicates correctly with the instrument's power management circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack under combined GPS acquisition and display load. The BMS held stable through sensor initialisation spikes and sustained logging sessions without tripping cutoff.
  • First-deployment calibration: After installing this battery, run a full calibration cycle through the TSC7 instrument menu before heading into the field. The instrument maps battery state during calibration — skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings on the first measurement session.

TSC7 shutting down mid-measurement despite showing charge remaining

The TSC7 combines GPS receiver, cellular or Bluetooth radio, and a high-brightness display — all drawing simultaneously during active survey work. This combined load can pull the pack voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold even when the display shows remaining charge. A degraded original battery can't sustain the current spike when a secondary sensor or radio initialises on top of baseline load. A fresh pack rated at the correct cell voltage handles these stacked draws without the voltage sag that triggers shutdown.

TSC7 not recognising a replacement pack after the instrument sat unused for months

A pack stored in a carry case for several months can self-discharge below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell. When this happens, the TSC7 may not detect the battery or refuse to power on at all. Connect the battery to a charger that supports Li-ion recovery or pre-charge mode before inserting it into the instrument. Once the pack reaches approximately 3.0V per cell, the BMS wakes and the instrument will recognise it normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TSC7 powers on fine but resets or loses its logging session partway through data collection — the battery still shows charge on screen. What's happening?

This is a voltage dropout failure, not a charge level failure. Under sustained GPS logging with the display active, the pack voltage sags briefly below the threshold the instrument needs to keep memory and session state intact, even though the indicator still reads mid-charge. A worn original cell loses voltage faster under load than the display gauge can track. Replace the pack and run the instrument's calibration cycle before the next session so the battery state mapping is accurate from the start.

My TSC7 won't charge at all after sitting in the truck for the past few months — the charger shows no activity.

Extended storage at low charge causes Li-ion cells to self-discharge below the BMS activation voltage, and the pack effectively goes into a protection lockout. The charger sees a circuit it can't read and stops. Use a charger with a Li-ion recovery or trickle pre-charge function to bring the pack up to roughly 3.0V per cell — at that point the BMS re-initialises and normal charging resumes. If the pack won't respond after 30 minutes of recovery charging, the cells have over-discharged beyond recovery and the pack needs replacing.

After I installed a new battery, my TSC7 shows an inconsistent charge percentage — it jumps around or reads 100% then drops to 60% on reboot. Is the battery faulty?

The instrument's percentage display recalibrates its voltage thresholds against the new cell's actual charge curve, and this takes one or two full discharge-charge cycles to settle. Run the instrument through a complete field session until it shuts down on low battery, then charge it fully without interruption. After that cycle, the displayed percentage will track the actual cell voltage accurately and the jumping will stop.
