Fits Tecatel M-T1 Combo surveying instrument, replacing OEM battery pack for field measurement work.
11.1V at 2600mAh delivers sustained power through extended probe initialization cycles and sensor logging sessions.
Connector slides straight into battery compartment with positive contact alignment; locking tab secures pack flush against housing.
Bench testing confirmed stable voltage delivery under probe startup current draw; BMS handled thermal sensor load without cutoff events.
After installing, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before field deployment — the M-T1 maps battery state during calibration, and skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings on the first measurement session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tecatel M-T1 Combo — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is an 11.1V, 2600mAh (28.86Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Tecatel M-T1 Combo surveying and testing instrument. It fits the M-T1 Combo directly, using the same form factor at 68.50 × 57.00 × 18.80mm. Use the capacity figure from this listing — 2600mAh — as the reference for your records.

  • M-T1 Combo platform fit: The M-T1 Combo draws power across multiple subsystems simultaneously — display, sensor bus, and data processor. This battery runs at the same 11.1V nominal rail the instrument expects, keeping all subsystems stable without triggering voltage mismatch errors during start-up.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles, monitoring BMS response under simulated sensor-initialisation loads. The BMS held the output rail steady through probe power-up current spikes and did not trip into protection mode during sustained logging draws.
  • Calibration cycle after installation: After fitting this battery, run a full calibration cycle through the M-T1 Combo's instrument menu before field deployment. The instrument maps battery state during calibration — skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings during your first measurement session in the field.

BMS lockout after the M-T1 Combo sat unused in a carry case for months

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If a pack sits long enough, cell voltage can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell on a 3S pack. When voltage falls that low, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks charge current as a protection measure. Connect the pack to a compatible charger and leave it for up to 30 minutes — many chargers apply a low-current trickle that nudges cell voltage above the recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the charger shows no activity after 30 minutes, check that each cell group reads at least 2.5V before proceeding.

M-T1 Combo display showing an inconsistent battery percentage after reboot

When a new cell pack replaces a worn one, the instrument's voltage-threshold indicator has not yet mapped the new cell's discharge curve. On reboot, the displayed percentage can jump or read higher or lower than the actual state of charge. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles through normal instrument use — this gives the indicator enough data points to align percentage readings with the actual voltage curve. After two cycles, the display should track within a few percent of real charge state at the 11.1V nominal rail.

Frequently Asked Questions

The M-T1 Combo shuts itself off the moment the probe or sensor module initialises — battery looks full but the instrument cuts out instantly. What's happening?

Probe and sensor modules draw a sharp current spike at initialisation — on a 3S Li-ion pack, the BMS can interpret that spike as a fault condition and trip into protection mode, cutting output before the module fully starts. This is a BMS threshold issue, not a capacity problem. Fully charge the pack, then power the instrument on with no probe attached first, let it complete its boot sequence, then connect the probe. That sequence spreads the inrush load across two separate events and keeps the BMS from tripping.

Readings drift or reset unexpectedly partway through a logging session, even though the battery indicator still shows charge remaining. What causes this?

Sustained sensor load during a long logging session creates a continuous draw that causes voltage to sag below the threshold the instrument uses to maintain stable sensor bus power — the indicator can still show partial charge while the rail voltage has already sagged. The issue is most common when backlight, data logging, and an active sensor module all run together. Reduce concurrent subsystem load where possible, and check that the pack is sitting at a resting voltage of at least 11.1V before starting a long session — a pack reading below 10.8V at rest under this combined load will sag further and trigger mid-session resets.

The M-T1 Combo powers on but shuts down specifically during USB data transfer to a PC. Is this a battery fault or a device fault?

USB data transfer adds a combined draw — the USB controller, active display, and internal processor all run at once, and on a partially discharged pack that load pulls cell voltage low enough for the BMS to cut output. We saw this exact behaviour on the bench when cell voltage was below 10.5V at the start of transfer. Charge the pack fully before initiating any USB transfer session, and confirm resting voltage is at or above 11.1V before connecting the cable.
