Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Televes H45 / H60 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (9920)
This 7.4V 10400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Televes H45 and H60 field strength meters. These are professional RF and TV signal analysis instruments used in broadcast installations and network site surveys. The battery slides into the same bay as the original 9920 pack and connects via the same BMS-managed interface.
- H45 and H60 compatibility: Both meters share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — that is why one pack covers both models. The H60 runs the same 7.4V voltage rail and draws through the same charge management circuit as the H45.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the H45 boot sequence, full RF scan routines, and USB data export to a connected PC. The BMS held stable under the combined draw of the display, tuner module, and active USB transfer without tripping a protection cutoff.
- First-use calibration step: After fitting this battery, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument's system menu before heading out on site. The H45 and H60 map battery state during that calibration pass — skip it and the fuel gauge will flag low battery warnings well before the cell is actually depleted.
BMS cutoff when the H45 initialises its tuner module at startup
The H45 tuner module pulls a short current spike the moment it powers up — enough to trip the overcurrent threshold on a weakened or cold BMS. This is not a fault in the instrument; it is a protection response in the battery pack. A new pack with a fully conditioned BMS handles this spike without cutting out. If the meter shuts down in the first two seconds of boot, check that the battery terminals are clean and the pack is above 7.0V before retrying.
Pack shows charged but H45 reboots mid-logging session
This usually happens when the cell voltage sags under sustained tuner and display load, dropping far enough to trigger the meter's undervoltage reset — even if the indicator showed a healthy charge beforehand. The H45 samples battery voltage at a fixed polling interval, so a fast voltage dip between samples can look like a full charge right up until the moment the unit resets. This is more common with older or partially degraded cells. Replace the pack and confirm open-circuit voltage sits at or above 8.2V before starting a logging session.

Frequently Asked Questions
My H45 won't power on after sitting unused in the carry case for several months — is the battery dead?
Most likely the pack entered BMS sleep mode after self-discharging below its recovery threshold during storage. Connect the original Televes charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — many chargers will not register the pack immediately but will begin a trickle recovery cycle. If the charger LED stays dark after 30 minutes, disconnect and reconnect to re-trigger the charge detection handshake. The pack needs to reach approximately 6.0V before the BMS will allow normal charging to resume.
The H45 signal readings reset or jump during a long measurement session even though the battery indicator looks fine.
Voltage dropout under sustained RF scanning load is the most common cause — the cell voltage dips briefly below the meter's stable-operation threshold, causing the processor to reset the active measurement. The battery indicator on the H45 updates slowly and will not catch a fast transient sag. We reproduced this on the bench by running continuous band scans over extended periods; packs with worn cells showed momentary drops below 7.0V mid-scan. Fitting a fresh pack and confirming it reads above 8.0V at rest before a session resolves the issue.
The H45 display shows an inconsistent battery percentage every time I reboot — it jumps between different values on successive power-ons.
The H45 estimates state of charge by reading cell voltage at boot rather than tracking cumulative current flow, so any variance in resting voltage between power cycles shows up as a percentage jump. A new cell takes three to five charge-discharge cycles before its resting voltage stabilises at each state of charge level. Run the pack through full charge and discharge cycles in normal field use, and the boot-time percentage reading will settle into a consistent range.
