Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus Eee Pad MeMo EP71 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (C11-EP71)

This is a 3.7V, 4400mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Asus Eee Pad MeMo EP71 tablet. It fits the EP71 and N71PNG3 variants and uses the OEM part number C11-EP71. It replaces a degraded or failed original cell and restores the tablet to full operating capacity.

  • EP71 and N71PNG3 compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V power rail, and C11-EP71 connector pinout. The BMS on each variant reads cell voltage via the same fuel gauge IC, so one cell fits both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the EP71 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC brought it to full voltage without thermal events or interruptions.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's actual capacity and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately after a battery swap.

Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve. When the display, WiFi, and processor pull current simultaneously, the combined load causes a sharp voltage drop. The IC misreads this drop as a critically low state of charge and triggers shutdown before the cell is actually empty. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the reference points and resolves the early cutoff.

EP71 reporting incorrect battery percentage after cell swap

The onboard fuel gauge IC stores learned capacity data from the old cell. A new cell with different internal resistance shifts the voltage-to-percentage mapping, so the displayed figure is wrong from the first boot. The fix is one complete recalibration cycle: discharge the tablet fully until it shuts itself off, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the percentage display tracks actual cell voltage accurately at 3.7V nominal.

Frequently Asked Questions

My EP71 shows 40% battery but shuts off without warning — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads voltage under combined display and WiFi load and triggers a premature shutdown. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle resets the IC's reference points and stops the unexpected cutoffs.

Fast charging stopped working on my EP71 after I replaced the battery — what changed?

The charge IC needs at least one accepted full charge cycle before it negotiates higher input current with a new cell. On the first charge after a swap, the IC defaults to a conservative current limit until it confirms the cell's internal resistance is within range. Charge the tablet fully once from near-empty without interrupting it, and the charge rate returns to normal on subsequent cycles.

The battery percentage on my EP71 is dropping faster than expected from 100% — did I get a low-capacity cell?

This is fuel gauge drift, not a capacity problem. The IC's learned model still reflects the old cell's characteristics and overestimates charge remaining at the top of the curve, which makes the drop from 100% look steep. Complete one full discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the gauge recalibrates against the actual 4400mAh cell. The drop rate normalises after that first full cycle.
