The BMS reads this voltage cliff as a critically low cell and triggers an immediate shutdown before the reported percentage reaches zero. Fast charging unavailable after battery replacement on Note 8.0

Some GT-N5100 units show standard charge speed only — not fast charge — after a battery swap. The charge IC needs one completed accepted charge cycle before it re-negotiates the correct charging profile with a new cell. Plug the tablet into the original Samsung charger, let it complete a full uninterrupted charge to 100%, and confirm the charge current on the next cycle. If fast charge remains absent after two full cycles, check that the charger output matches Samsung's spec of 5V/2A for this tablet.

Battery percentage drops fast from 100% but then slows down — why does this happen after a swap?

This is fuel gauge drift. The GT-N5100's gauge IC is still partially calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it over-reports early discharge and under-reports it later.
