Fits Medion Lifetab P10602 tablet; replaces OEM part numbers BT-G017 and SMB-H1007.
3.8V, 7600mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers full capacity across web browsing, video playback, and productivity tasks.
Connector attaches to the internal socket with positive terminal forward; locking tab secures without forcing.
Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake on first charge; voltage ramp stayed linear through full capacity acceptance.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medion Lifetab P10602 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BT-G017)

This 3.8V, 7600mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the original BT-G017 (also listed as SMB-H1007) in the Medion Lifetab P10602 10-inch Android tablet. It restores power to a device that no longer holds a charge or fails to turn on. Dimensions are 136.30 × 121.70 × 3.00mm — verify your original cell before installing.

  • Lifetab P10602 fit: The P10602 uses a flat Li-Polymer pouch cell on a dedicated connector tied directly to the tablet's charge IC and fuel gauge. This replacement matches that connector, cell footprint, and the 3.8V nominal rail the board expects.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the P10602 board. The charge IC accepted the new cell without fault flags, and the BMS reported state-of-charge cleanly across the full voltage window.
  • Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's actual capacity curve and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that almost always appear after a swap.

Lifetab P10602 shutting down at 15–25% remaining

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's degraded voltage curve. The new cell's voltage drops faster than the old profile expects in the final charge band, so the system calls a low-voltage shutdown early. It is not a fault with the replacement cell. One full discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the gauge's reference points. After that cycle, shutdowns should track correctly down to the real 3.2V floor.

Fast charging not working after fitting the BT-G017 replacement

The Lifetab P10602 charge IC completes a USB-PD or proprietary handshake during the first accepted charge cycle on a new cell. Until that cycle finishes, the controller may hold the session at standard 5V rather than negotiating a higher voltage. Plug in with the screen off and leave it to complete a full charge without interruption. Once that first cycle is logged, subsequent sessions should negotiate the faster charge rate as normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Lifetab P10602 is showing 80% battery right after charging to full — is the new battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty. The tablet's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the worn-out original cell and does not yet know the capacity curve of the replacement. Drain the tablet completely until it shuts off automatically, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using it. That single full cycle resets the gauge reference and the percentage display should read accurately afterwards.

The Lifetab P10602 feels warm while charging after the battery swap — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles is normal. The charge IC on the P10602 board is running its initial conditioning pass on the new cell, which draws slightly more heat than a settled cycle on a broken-in battery. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch or the charge stops and restarts repeatedly, disconnect and check the connector seating. Gentle warmth that fades after the first two or three full charges is not a fault.

The percentage on my P10602 drops from 100% to around 70% within the first hour of use — what's happening?

This is fuel gauge drift — the IC mapped the new cell's starting voltage to its old degraded reference, so the top portion of the charge band reads as artificially full and then collapses quickly. It is not a capacity problem with the replacement cell. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. The gauge recalibrates against the actual cell voltage range and the drop should flatten out across normal use.
