Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wacom Intuos5 Touch PTH-450 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1UF553450Z-WCM)
This 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal battery in the Wacom Intuos5 Touch pen tablet. It fits the PTH-450-XX, PTH-450-DE, PTH-450-EN, and over 35 additional Intuos5 Touch variants. The battery restores wireless operation to the tablet when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge.
- PTH-450 series compatibility: All PTH-450 variants share the same internal battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. A single cell — the 1UF553450Z-WCM — covers the full lineup without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a PTH-450 unit. The BMS accepted the new cell, negotiated correctly with the charge IC, and reported state-of-charge without fault flags.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this cell, run the tablet wirelessly until it shuts off automatically, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's actual capacity curve and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a battery swap.
Intuos5 Touch shutting down at 20–30% battery remaining
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell. The gauge maps a dying cell's voltage curve — which collapsed steeply at low charge — onto the new cell. The tablet sees the voltage drop past its low-battery threshold earlier than it should and triggers an emergency shutdown. One full discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the calibration reference. After that cycle, the shutdown point should sit at or below 5%.
Intuos5 Touch battery percentage dropping faster than expected from 100%
Fast percentage drop from a full charge is almost always fuel gauge drift — the charge IC recorded a capacity figure from the old degraded cell and is now projecting discharge rate against that lower baseline. The new 1050mAh cell has more usable capacity than the gauge expects, so it burns through percentage points faster in its model than in reality. Run one complete cycle: wireless use to automatic shutoff, then a full uninterrupted charge. The gauge re-anchors to the actual cell capacity and percentage drain stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Intuos5 Touch still shows the old battery percentage immediately after fitting the new cell — is the replacement faulty?
The cell is fine. The fuel gauge IC on the Intuos5 Touch stores calibration data from the previous cell and carries it over to the new one. It has no way to know a swap happened. Run the tablet wirelessly until it shuts off on its own, then charge it to 100% without interruption. That single cycle resets the calibration reference and the percentage display corrects itself.
The Intuos5 Touch feels warm near the charging port while the new battery is charging — should I stop?
Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new cell is normal. The charge IC runs at a slightly higher workload while it maps the new cell's internal resistance and adjusts its charge profile. We measured surface temperatures on the bench during this break-in phase and they stayed within the thermal limits Wacom specifies. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch or shows a fault indicator, disconnect it — but gentle warmth alone is not a reason to stop charging.
The Intuos5 Touch wireless connection drops more frequently since I replaced the battery — what's causing it?
Low or fluctuating cell voltage causes the onboard Bluetooth module to lose transmit power momentarily, which the driver reads as a disconnect. This is most common when the fuel gauge is still miscalibrated and the tablet's power management throttles the radio earlier than needed. Complete one full discharge-to-shutoff and a 100% uninterrupted recharge. If dropouts continue after that cycle, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partially engaged connector creates intermittent voltage sag under the wireless transmit load.
