Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE K88 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (Li3846T43P6hF07632)

This is a 3.8V, 4600mAh Li-Polymer battery for the ZTE K88 Android tablet. It replaces OEM part number Li3846T43P6hF07632. Capacity and connector type match the original cell, so no hardware modification is needed during installation.

  • ZTE K88 fitment: The K88 uses a fixed 3.8V single-cell Li-Polymer configuration. The BMS on this tablet monitors cell voltage directly and will reject cells outside its accepted voltage window — this battery sits within that window and passes the handshake on power-up.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the K88 platform. The charge IC accepted the cell on the first cycle, BMS communication stayed active throughout, and the tablet held display and Wi-Fi load without triggering a low-voltage cutoff early.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force it off. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This single full cycle resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's actual discharge curve and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that almost always appear after a battery swap.

ZTE K88 shutting down at 15–25% battery remaining

This happens because the tablet's fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve. When the new cell hits a voltage drop under combined display and Wi-Fi load, the IC interprets it as a critically low state and triggers shutdown — even though the cell still has usable charge. The fix is one complete discharge-to-shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, the fuel gauge maps the new cell correctly and shutdowns stop occurring above 10%.

Fast charging not available on the K88 after battery replacement

The K88's charge controller uses a negotiation step on the first accepted charge cycle to confirm cell parameters before enabling higher charge rates. A freshly installed battery often completes its first cycle at standard rate — this is normal behaviour, not a fault with the battery or charger. Plug in using the original ZTE charger and cable, let the first charge run to 100% without interruption, then unplug and reconnect. Most users see fast charge re-enable on the second connection once the controller has logged the completed cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ZTE K88 is showing 60% battery but just switched off — why?

The fuel gauge IC inside the K88 was calibrated to your original cell's discharge curve. A new cell has a slightly different voltage profile, so the gauge misreads remaining charge and the tablet cuts off before the battery is actually flat. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff without forcing a power-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. One full cycle resets the calibration and the shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my K88 is jumping around after I replaced the battery — is the new battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The K88's fuel gauge drifts when the reference data it holds no longer matches the installed cell — you will see the percentage skip forward or drop suddenly, especially between 80% and 40%. This resolves after one complete discharge-to-shutoff and a full charge back to 100%. That single cycle writes new reference points to the gauge IC and the readings stabilise.

My ZTE K88 gets warm while charging after the battery swap — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new Li-Polymer cell is normal. The charge IC runs a conditioning pass on an unfamiliar cell, which draws slightly more current than steady-state charging and generates low-level heat. If the tablet is too hot to hold comfortably or the warmth continues past the third full charge, check that you are using a charger rated at 5V/2A — higher voltages from non-compatible adapters will cause the charge IC to run outside its thermal envelope.
