This is a 24V 2000mAh (48Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Bissell 3789, 3797W, 3789U, and Cleanview XR Stick Vacuum series. It replaces OEM part numbers 1638019 and 1638764. Capacity matches the original cell specification listed in Bissell's service documentation.

This is a voltage sag issue, not a failed battery. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than rated to maintain airflow. The vacuum feels like it's losing charge when it's actually fighting a restriction. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction stabilises at full power afterward, the battery is functioning correctly.

Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not an intermittent fault in the battery itself. Sustained restricted airflow — from a full dust cup, a blocked nozzle, or a clogged filter — forces the motor to spike current draw above the BMS protection threshold. The BMS opens the circuit to protect the cells, which feels like a sudden shutoff. Wait a few seconds for the BMS to reset, clear the blockage, then restart. If it trips again immediately, empty the dust cup and inspect the filter before replacing the battery.
