Fits Bissell ICONpet Cordless 2288, ICONpet Pro 2746A, and ICONpet Pro 2746; replaces OEM part numbers 1621066, 61-0088-026, 1618212, 1620773, and 61-0088-010.
This 21.6V 3000mAh cell delivers 64.8Wh to sustain full motor load across carpet and bare floors without voltage sag.
Connector slides onto the dock contact pins with a quarter-turn locking tab; verify alignment before seating to avoid contact wear.
We ran the pack through three full discharge cycles on the motor load bench; BMS held steady at rated voltage with no early shutdown events.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously—trickle charging degrades capacity faster than charge-and-remove cycles on the Bissell platform.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bissell ICONpet Cordless 2288 / ICONpet Pro 2746A — 21.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1621066)

This 21.6V 3000mAh (64.8Wh) lithium-ion battery fits the Bissell ICONpet Cordless 2288, ICONpet Cordless 22889, ICONpet Pro Cordless 2746, and ICONpet Pro Cordless 2746A cordless vacuum cleaners. It replaces OEM part numbers 1621066, 1618212, 1620773, 61-0088-026, and 61-0088-010. Capacity and voltage match the original cell exactly.

  • ICONpet and ICONpet Pro compatibility: The 2288 and 2746 series share the same 21.6V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell services both lines without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through full charge and discharge cycles on the ICONpet platform. The BMS responded correctly to motor-start inrush current and held voltage steady under sustained suction load on carpet.
  • Dock charging habit for ICONpet vacuums: Remove the battery from the charging dock once it reaches full charge. The ICONpet dock does not cut trickle current automatically — leaving the battery docked indefinitely accelerates cell degradation faster than normal cycle wear.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

On the ICONpet platform, the motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll is restricted by pet hair. That elevated draw causes pack voltage to sag earlier than the indicator expects, so suction feels weak while the LED still shows a charged state. The BMS reads voltage under load — not resting voltage — and begins throttling output to protect the cells. Clean the filter and clear the brush roll before assuming the battery is at fault; a clean airpath drops motor draw back to rated current and the voltage sag disappears.

Motor cuts out mid-session then restarts after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery failure. When the ICONpet motor sustains a restricted suction path — blocked filter, clogged hose, or matted pet hair in the brush roll — current spikes beyond the BMS protection threshold and the pack shuts output off. The BMS resets automatically after the cells cool slightly, which is why the vacuum restarts after 15–20 seconds. To stop the cycle from repeating, clear the restriction first, then confirm the filter is clean and seated correctly before restarting.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ICONpet vacuum loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery light still shows full — is the battery dying?

Not necessarily. When the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll is packed with pet hair, the motor draws more current than rated, which drags pack voltage down under load even though resting voltage looks fine. The battery indicator reads resting voltage, so it stays green while suction drops. Clean the filter and clear the brush roll first — if suction recovers, the battery is not the problem.

The vacuum cuts out after a minute or two on thick carpet, pauses, then starts again on its own — what's causing that?

That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip. Thick carpet increases motor load, and if the filter is even slightly restricted, current spikes past the BMS protection limit and the pack shuts off. The BMS resets once cell temperature drops, which is why it restarts on its own. Clear the filter completely, then check that airflow through the dust cup is unobstructed before running on carpet again.

My replacement battery fades noticeably faster than the original after only a few months — did I get a bad cell?

Capacity fade this fast usually traces back to continuous dock charging. The ICONpet charging dock does not cut trickle current once the pack is full, so a battery left on the dock permanently takes a constant low-level charge that degrades cell chemistry ahead of schedule. Charge the battery fully, remove it from the dock, and store it off the charger. Charge again only when the vacuum signals low battery.
