Fits Black&Decker V3610, V3600, V3610V, V3610P cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part 5100363-03.
3.6V, 3000mAh Ni-MH battery delivers the same voltage and capacity as the original cell for this handheld stick vacuum.
Connector slides straight onto the charging dock with a single locking tab; orientation marked on the pack itself.
We ran this cell through five full charge-discharge cycles on a V3610 test unit; BMS showed clean voltage ramp with no early cutoff.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH cells in dock-mounted chargers develop capacity fade from trickle charge; charge to full and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Black&Decker V3610 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (5100363-03)

This is a 3.6V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Black&Decker V3610, V3600, V3610V, and V3610P cordless handheld and stick vacuums. It replaces OEM part number 5100363-03 directly. When the original cell loses capacity or refuses to hold a charge, this swap restores full motor voltage to the cleaning head.

  • V3610 series compatibility: The V3610, V3600, V3610V, and V3610P share the same 3.6V single-cell architecture and connector pinout. All four models draw from the same battery bay, so one cell fits the group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the V3610 charger circuit and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly. The charger reached cutoff at full capacity without triggering a fault condition or premature termination.
  • Dock charging on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between uses. Continuous trickle charge on Ni-MH cells accelerates capacity fade faster than normal cycle wear. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

On the V3610, motor voltage sag shows up as reduced suction well before the battery is actually depleted. This happens when the filter is partially blocked — the motor works harder to pull air, draws more current, and the cell voltage drops under load. The vacuum reads as low-power before the cell is genuinely empty. Clean or replace the filter first, then test suction at full charge to separate a battery fault from a filter restriction.

Motor cutting out mid-use then recovering after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked nozzle, clogged filter, or hair wrapped around the intake — the motor current spikes past the cell's protection threshold and the BMS disconnects the circuit. Waiting a moment lets the BMS reset and the motor runs again. Clear the blockage completely before the next run, or the trip cycle repeats and shortens cell life. If the motor cuts out on a clean filter with no obstruction, check that cell voltage under load stays above 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My V3610 loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery light still shows full — what's happening?

This is motor voltage sag under load, not a dead cell. A partially restricted filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which drops cell voltage and kills suction while the indicator still reads high. Remove and clean the filter, then retest. If suction holds after a filter clean, the battery is fine — the filter was the cause.

The motor on my V3610 keeps cutting out for a few seconds then starting again — is the battery failing?

That stop-start pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip cycling on and off. It usually means the motor is fighting a blockage — check the nozzle, intake, and filter for hair or debris restricting airflow. Clear the obstruction completely and the trips should stop. If it still cuts out with a clean, unblocked vacuum, measure cell voltage under load — it should stay at or above 3.0V during operation.

I left my V3610 on the dock for weeks and now it barely runs — did I get a faulty battery?

The cell is likely degraded from continuous trickle charging, not defective from the factory. Ni-MH cells develop capacity fade when kept on a dock charger permanently rather than charged only when depleted. Charge the new replacement to full, then remove it from the dock — store the vacuum off-charge between uses. That single habit change is the main factor in how long the replacement cell lasts.
