The DW700's motor draws peak current when fighting a partially blocked filter or restricted airflow path. Clean or replace the filter first, then test again; if suction holds through a full cycle, the filter was the cause, not the battery.

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery failure. When the suction path is restricted — blocked brush roll, clogged filter, or debris jam — the motor draws sustained current above the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts power to protect the cell, the robot pauses, and it restarts once the BMS resets. Clear the blockage and check that the filter is seated correctly. If the cutout continues on a clear path, measure pack voltage under load — it should hold above 10.8V during motor run.
