Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Electrolux PQ91-50MB Series — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4055478301)
This 25.2V 3000mAh Li-ion battery pack replaces the original power cell in the Electrolux PQ91-50MB and related PQ91 series cordless stick vacuums. It fits the PQ91-ALRGS, PQ91-ALRGY, PQ91-ANIMA, and over a dozen additional PQ91 variants. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec at 25.2V and 3000mAh (75.6Wh).
- PQ91 series platform fit: All PQ91 variants share the same 25.2V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping the pack across these models triggers no fault codes and no charge lockout — the BMS communicates identically to the original cell pack.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on a PQ91 unit, confirming BMS charge acceptance, motor start current handling, and cutoff behaviour under simulated blockage load. The pack held within 2% of rated capacity across five consecutive cycles.
- Dock charging habit on PQ91 vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously between uses. PQ91 models draw a low trickle current when docked even after reaching full charge. Over weeks, this accelerates cell degradation. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on PQ91 models
The PQ91 motor controller reads pack voltage directly to manage suction power. When cells age, internal resistance rises and voltage sags under load — even if the indicator still shows a partial charge. The motor controller interprets this voltage sag as low battery and reduces power output before the indicator catches up. A new cell pack with lower internal resistance restores full voltage under load and eliminates early suction loss.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and recovering after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a cell failure. When the vacuum's filter is partially blocked, the motor draws significantly more current trying to maintain airflow. The BMS detects the spike and cuts power to protect the cells, then resets after a short cooldown. Before replacing any parts, clean or replace the filter and check the brush roll for hair wrap. If the cutout stops after clearing the restriction, the battery and motor are both fine — the trip was a normal protection response.

Frequently Asked Questions
My PQ91 vacuum loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery indicator still shows charge — why?
This is voltage sag from high internal resistance in the aging cell pack. Under motor load, the pack voltage drops enough for the motor controller to reduce power, even though the resting voltage looks fine to the indicator. The indicator reads resting voltage, not loaded voltage — so it lags behind real capacity. Replacing the pack restores loaded voltage and eliminates the early suction drop.
The vacuum runs for a noticeably shorter time than it used to even though I charge it fully — is the battery the problem?
Capacity fade is the most likely cause. Li-ion cells in cordless vacuums lose usable capacity gradually, and leaving the unit on the dock continuously accelerates the process through sustained trickle charging. Check whether the pack gets warm during a charge cycle — excess heat during charging is a sign of elevated internal resistance and advanced cell degradation. A replacement pack rated at 3000mAh will restore the original energy storage and extend cleaning time back toward spec.
The replacement battery isn't charging on the PQ91 dock — the charger light stays off or shows a fault.
The PQ91 charger performs a BMS handshake before beginning charge. If the replacement pack has been deeply discharged in transit, its voltage may have dropped below the charger's minimum threshold, causing the charger to reject it. Connect the pack to the vacuum and attempt a brief power-on — this can wake the BMS and raise cell voltage above the acceptance threshold. Once the BMS responds, return to the dock; the charger should recognise the pack and begin charging normally from 25.2V baseline.
