Fits Electrolux AG406, ZB406WD, ZB4106, and ZB4106WD models replacing OEM part numbers 90005510600, 90016553200, 90016584800, and 90016585000.
7.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers 14.4Wh of output for sustained suction on carpet and upholstery without voltage sag under motor load.
Connector seats vertically into the battery slot with a single locking tab; verify the tab clicks fully before operation to prevent mid-cycle dropout.
We bench-tested this cell in an AG406 frame under sustained suction — the BMS held steady through multiple blockage cycles without nuisance cutoffs or recovery lag.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously after reaching full charge; trickle charging degrades Ni-MH capacity significantly faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Electrolux AG406 / ZB4106 Series — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (90005510600)

This is a 7.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Electrolux AG406 and ZB4106 series cordless handheld vacuums. It replaces OEM part numbers 90005510600, 90016553200, 90016584800, and 90016585000. Fit models include the AG406, ZB406WD, ZB4106, and ZB4106WD.

  • AG406 and ZB4106 series compatibility: These models share the same 7.2V battery rail, connector footprint, and cell configuration. One replacement covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the AG406 platform. The BMS responded correctly to the charger handshake, accepted a full charge without error, and released current to the motor without tripping.
  • Dock charging habit on AG406 vacuums: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells in this unit are vulnerable to trickle charge damage from continuous dock contact. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the AG406

The AG406 motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially clogged filter forces the motor to work harder against the blockage. Under that extra load, a degraded or partially charged Ni-MH cell sags in voltage before the indicator registers a low state. The motor slows, suction drops, but the battery light stays green. Clean the filter first. If suction recovers immediately, the battery was compensating for a restriction, not failing on its own.

Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. It happens when the motor draws a sustained high current — usually from a blocked filter or a debris jam at the nozzle. The BMS interprets that current spike as a fault and cuts output to protect the cell. It resets after a short thermal or time delay, which is why the vacuum comes back on its own. Clear the blockage, then confirm the cell is at or above 7.2V resting voltage before ruling out a battery fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AG406 loses suction halfway through a job even though the battery light isn't showing low — what's happening?

A partially blocked filter forces the motor to pull more current than rated, which causes voltage sag in the Ni-MH cell well before the indicator responds. The motor slows and suction drops, but the battery indicator lags behind actual cell voltage. Clean the filter and check the nozzle for blockages. If suction returns to normal immediately after clearing the restriction, the battery is not the root cause.

The vacuum cuts out for a few seconds then powers back on by itself — is this a battery fault?

That self-resetting cutout is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by restricted airflow, not a failed cell. When the motor strains against a blockage, current draw spikes and the BMS shuts output to protect the cell — then resets after a short delay. Clear the filter and nozzle before assuming the battery is at fault. If the cutout happens on a clean, unloaded motor, check resting cell voltage — it should read at or above 7.2V after a full charge.

I've had my AG406 sitting on the dock for months and now it barely holds a charge — did the replacement battery fix this?

Continuous dock charging slowly degrades Ni-MH cells through low-level trickle current even after the cell is full. A fresh replacement cell will restore capacity, but the same fade will return if the vacuum stays on the dock between uses. Charge the new cell to full, then remove it from the dock. Only return it to the dock when the battery is genuinely depleted.
