Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Philips FC8772 / FC8710 Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CP0111/01)
This is a 14.8V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery pack for the Philips FC8772, FC8710, FC8776, FC8705, and over 25 additional cordless stick vacuum models in this series. It replaces OEM part numbers CP0111/01, 4ICR19/65, and 3000-014-15881. The pack slots directly into the handle unit and restores suction power to the motor drive circuit.
- FC87xx series compatibility: These models share a common 14.8V four-cell Li-ion architecture, the same physical connector, and an identical BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single pack covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles on an FC8772 unit and monitored cell balance across all four cells. The BMS held the cutoff voltage correctly at low charge and did not trip under normal motor-start draw.
- Dock charging habit for this vacuum: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the dock between uses. The FC87xx dock does not terminate charge — it trickle-charges continuously, which accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion cells. Charge fully, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
On the FC8772, the motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked — often two to three times the rated draw. The BMS reads this sustained high current as a low-voltage condition and begins throttling power to the motor before the indicator LED registers a low state. The result feels like a weak battery when the actual cause is restricted airflow forcing an overcurrent condition. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers and holds, the battery is not the issue.
Motor cuts out mid-use and then restarts after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — by a blocked filter, a jammed brush roll, or heavy carpet — the motor stalls briefly and pulls a spike of current above the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts power to protect the cells, then resets after a few seconds once current demand drops. The fix is to clear the restriction, not replace the battery. If the cutout happens on an unobstructed surface with a clean filter, measure pack voltage under load — it should hold above 13.5V during normal operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My FC8772 has a new battery but the charger light never turns green — it just blinks or stays orange. What's wrong?
The FC87xx charger handshakes with the BMS before it begins a full charge cycle — if the replacement pack's BMS doesn't respond correctly on the first connection, the charger stays in a holding state. Disconnect the pack, wait 60 seconds, and reconnect. If the light still won't go solid, check that the pack voltage is above 10V with a multimeter; a deeply discharged cell can sit below the charger's acceptance threshold and will need a brief boost charge to re-enter the normal charge window.
The vacuum runs fine for a short stretch, then suction just collapses — but the battery still shows charge. Why?
A partially blocked filter is forcing the motor to pull more current than rated, and the BMS throttles output before the indicator catches up — the indicator shows charge remaining, but the pack is already voltage-sagging under load. Remove and tap out the filter, then check the brush roll for wrapped debris. Run the vacuum again with a clean filter; if suction holds steady and consistent, the pack is not faulty — the motor was simply overloaded.
The original battery lasted years, but we noticed it got noticeably weaker after leaving the vacuum on the dock all the time. Will that happen to this replacement too?
Yes, and it's the most common cause of early capacity fade in the FC87xx series. The charging dock does not cut off when the pack reaches full — it continues to push a low-level charge into the cells continuously, which stresses Li-ion cells and degrades capacity faster than normal cycling would. With this replacement pack, charge it fully and remove it from the dock. Store the vacuum off the dock between uses and you'll see significantly longer cell life over the pack's full cycle count.
