Fits Electrolux 900257877 cordless vacuum; replaces OEM part number OSBP72LI25.
7.2V and 2000mAh capacity delivers sustained motor power through carpet and hard floor cleaning cycles.
Battery slides into the handheld grip slot with a quarter-turn lock tab; connector seats flush against motor terminal pins.
We bench-tested the cell in an ERV7210TG unit — BMS accepted charge without fault codes; discharge held voltage curve under sustained motor load.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously; trickle charging causes capacity fade — charge to full and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Electrolux 900257877 / ERV7210TG Series — 7.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (OSBP72LI25)

This is a 7.2V, 2000mAh Li-ion battery for Electrolux cordless stick vacuums including the 900257877, ERV7210TG, ERV7200DB, and 900257983. It replaces OEM part OSBP72LI25 using the same voltage rail and connector layout. Capacity is 2000mAh (14.4Wh), matching the original specification.

  • ERV7210TG and 900257877 compatibility: These models share the same 7.2V motor circuit, BMS handshake protocol, and physical connector. One battery cell configuration covers the full group — no adapters or wiring changes needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a 900257877 unit. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination and triggered overcurrent cutoff at the expected threshold under a blocked-filter load.
  • Dock charging on Electrolux stick vacs: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously. These units lack active dock management — the cell stays in a trickle-charge state when left docked, which accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS is comfortable sustaining — typically caused by a partially blocked filter or brush roll restriction, not a failing battery. The BMS reads elevated current draw as a near-discharge condition and begins throttling motor voltage before the cell is actually depleted. Clear the filter and brush roll first. If suction holds after that, the battery is fine — the motor was simply pulling above rated current due to the restriction.

Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush roll, or a sealed floor nozzle — the motor spins harder and current spikes above the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS shuts the cell output to protect the chemistry, which reads as the vacuum suddenly stopping. After 10–20 seconds the BMS resets and the unit powers back on. Fix the restriction, then check that the replacement cell voltage reads at least 7.4V on a multimeter after a full charge before dismissing the battery as the cause.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Electrolux cordless vacuum runs for a much shorter time than it used to even with a new battery — what's causing that?

A partially blocked filter is the most common cause. When airflow is restricted, the motor works harder and pulls more current than rated, draining the 2000mAh cell significantly faster than a clean-filter run would. Remove and clean or replace the foam and HEPA filters, then run a full charge cycle before testing again. If runtime improves after clearing the filters, the battery is not the problem.

The replacement battery won't charge — the charger light just stays green or shows no activity at all.

Some Electrolux chargers check for a minimum cell voltage before starting a charge cycle. If the replacement cell arrived deeply discharged, the charger may not recognise it as a valid battery and will not initiate charging. Connect the battery and leave it on the charger for 30 minutes — some chargers will trickle at very low current until the cell reaches around 3.0V per cell before switching to normal charge mode. If there is still no activity after 30 minutes, check that the charger output reads 8–9V DC at the contacts with a multimeter.

My vacuum ran fine for the first few weeks with the new battery, but now it barely holds charge — did I get a faulty cell?

Continuous dock charging is the likely cause, not a faulty cell. Electrolux stick vacs stored on the dock indefinitely receive a low-level trickle charge that keeps the Li-ion cells at near-full voltage for extended periods — this degrades capacity faster than normal use cycles. Remove the battery from the dock once the charge light indicates full. Charge only when the vacuum is noticeably low on power, and capacity should stabilise.
