Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ETA Milio 2446 Series — 18V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (ETA244600080)
This is an 18V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the ETA 2446 and Milio cordless handheld vacuum cleaners. It fits models 244690000 and the 2446 90000 platform. Swap it in to restore motor power to a vacuum that has lost suction strength or no longer holds a charge.
- 2446 platform compatibility: The 2446 and Milio share the same 18V motor rail and physical pack configuration. This battery uses the same connector layout and BMS voltage profile as the original ETA244600080, so the charger handshake completes normally without triggering a fault state.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack on a 2446-series unit under both bare-floor and carpet resistance loads. The BMS held steady through the motor-start current spike and did not trip under sustained high-draw conditions at full filter restriction.
- Dock charging on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells in continuous trickle charge lose capacity measurably faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge fully, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the pack can deliver at its present state of charge, pulling the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold early. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, which increases current draw and accelerates voltage sag. The battery indicator reads remaining charge, not motor load — so it can show mid-range while the pack is already struggling under the extra draw. Clean the filter first, then recharge to full and retest; a clear airpath reduces motor current back to rated draw.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — by a clogged filter or a blockage in the nozzle — the motor stalls slightly and pulls a current spike the BMS reads as a fault. The BMS shuts the output, the motor stops, and after the pack cools briefly the BMS resets and allows restart. The pause is the BMS recovery timer, typically 5–15 seconds on this cell chemistry. Clear the blockage or filter restriction and the current draw drops back within the BMS trip threshold, stopping the cycle of cutouts.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ETA 2446 vacuum loses suction well before the battery looks low — is the new battery faulty?
The battery is almost certainly fine. A dirty or clogged filter forces the motor to draw more current than it was rated for, which drags cell voltage down early and kills suction even with charge remaining. The battery indicator measures stored charge, not motor load, so those two readings decouple when the airpath is restricted. Clean the filter thoroughly, fully recharge the pack, and retest — suction should hold consistently through the charge cycle.
The motor on my 2446 keeps cutting out for a few seconds then restarts on its own — what's causing this?
That stop-and-restart pattern is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent fault and then resetting. It happens when a blockage or restricted filter makes the motor stall slightly, spiking current above the BMS trip threshold. The BMS cuts output to protect the cells, waits a short reset period, then allows restart. Check the nozzle, hose, and filter for any restriction — clearing the airpath brings current draw back within safe limits and stops the tripping.
This replacement battery fades much faster than the original did when it was new — why?
Ni-MH cells degrade faster than other chemistries when left on continuous dock charge. If the vacuum has been sitting on the charger between every use rather than charged only when depleted, trickle current slowly damages cell capacity over weeks. Charge the pack to full, remove it from the dock, and only return it to charge when it is genuinely depleted. You should see noticeably better capacity retention after a few full discharge-and-charge cycles on that pattern.
