Fits Rowenta Cleanette Air Force vacuum cleaners, replaces OEM part RS-AC3583.
7.2V, 3000mAh Ni-MH battery delivers full motor power for handheld cleaning work on the AC912501 platform.
Battery connects via proprietary dock connector with alignment pins; ensure tabs seat fully before locking.
We bench-tested this cell on the Cleanette dock charger — BMS accepted charge cycle without fault codes.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously after reaching full charge; trickle dock charging causes Ni-MH capacity fade within weeks, so remove and store the pack when depleted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta Cleanette Air Force — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (RS-AC3583)

This 7.2V, 3000mAh Ni-MH battery replaces part number RS-AC3583 in the Rowenta Cleanette Air Force cordless vacuum, including model AC912501. It powers the handheld motor directly — when the original cell degrades, suction weakens and runtime shortens noticeably. Swap this cell in and the motor returns to its rated draw.

  • Cleanette Air Force and AC912501 fitment: Both models share the same 7.2V motor rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one battery covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a Cleanette Air Force unit. The BMS handshake completed correctly, the motor engaged at rated voltage, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at low-cell threshold as expected.
  • Dock charging habit on Ni-MH cells: Do not leave the Cleanette Air Force sitting on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells on continuous trickle charge develop capacity fade faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove it from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

A blocked or dirty filter forces the motor to draw more current than it was rated for. Under that sustained load, cell voltage sags earlier than normal — the vacuum loses suction while the indicator still reads mid-range. The BMS is reacting to real voltage drop, not a faulty reading. Clean or replace the filter first, then recharge the battery fully before concluding the cell is at fault.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, full dustbin, or a tight carpet pile — the motor draws a sustained spike that pushes the cell beyond its safe discharge rate. The protection circuit opens to prevent damage, then resets once the current drops. Clear the blockage, empty the bin, and check the filter condition before the next run.

Frequently Asked Questions

My replacement RS-AC3583 battery won't charge at all — the dock light doesn't come on. What's wrong?

The Cleanette Air Force charger expects a specific voltage range at the battery terminals before it begins a charge cycle. A deeply discharged Ni-MH cell can drop below that threshold, and the charger refuses to start. Try leaving the battery connected for 30–60 minutes regardless — some chargers will trickle-feed a deeply discharged cell back into range before switching to normal charge mode. If the light still doesn't activate, measure the battery terminals with a multimeter; a reading below 5V on a 7.2V Ni-MH pack means the cells need a recovery charge at low current before normal charging can resume.

The vacuum has noticeably less suction than it did when the battery was new, even with a clean filter — why?

Ni-MH cells degrade faster when they are repeatedly topped up from a partial state rather than run down and charged in full cycles. Shallow cycling causes a voltage depression effect where the cell delivers less peak current to the motor, reducing suction even though the pack still holds some charge. Recondition the pack by running it down until the motor slows noticeably, then charge fully in one uninterrupted session. Repeat this two or three full cycles and suction output typically recovers.

The battery charges fine but the vacuum shuts off abruptly on thick carpet and restarts after a few seconds — is the battery faulty?

That behaviour is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a cell fault. Thick carpet increases motor resistance sharply, pulling a current spike that the protection circuit reads as unsafe. The BMS opens the circuit, the motor stops, and it resets once current drops — usually within a few seconds. Check that the filter is clean and the dustbin is less than two-thirds full, both of which reduce the load the motor has to work against. If the problem persists only on carpet, the cell is functioning correctly and the issue is sustained high draw rather than a failing battery.
