Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HOBOT Legee 7 / Legee D7 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LG700P1001)
This 14.4V 5000mAh (72Wh) Li-ion battery is a direct replacement for the HOBOT Legee 7 and Legee D7 robot vacuum. It matches the original LG700P1001 part number in voltage, capacity, and connector. When the original cell degrades after repeated cycles, suction drops and cleaning runs shorten — a fresh cell restores both.
- Legee 7 and Legee D7 platform: Both models run the same 14.4V battery architecture with the same BMS communication protocol and connector pinout. One replacement cell covers either unit without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Legee 7 platform and confirmed the BMS handshake initialised correctly. The protection circuit responded to overcurrent conditions as expected, cutting and resetting without manual intervention.
- Dock charging habit on the Legee 7: Do not leave the Legee 7 sitting on its charging dock permanently. Robot vacuums left on continuous trickle charge degrade cell capacity significantly faster than units removed from the dock once fully charged. Charge to 100%, then remove the unit from the dock until the next scheduled clean.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The Legee 7 motor draws peak current when working against a restricted airpath — a clogged filter forces the motor to run harder for the same suction output. That sustained high draw causes cell voltage to sag early, triggering the BMS to reduce output power before the battery indicator reflects a genuinely low state of charge. The unit appears to lose cleaning ability while the display still shows adequate charge. Clean the filter before assuming the battery is at fault — a clear airpath drops motor current draw back to rated levels and the voltage sag disappears.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers on its own
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a mechanical failure. When suction is sustained against a partial blockage — hair wrap around the brush roll, a jammed intake, or a saturated filter — current draw spikes past the protection threshold and the BMS shuts the motor down. It resets automatically after a few seconds once current normalises. If this happens repeatedly in the same cleaning session, clear the brush roll and check the filter before resuming. A replacement battery will not stop this cycle if the root cause is airpath restriction.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Legee 7 suction feels weak but the battery indicator still shows over half charge — is the battery failing or is it something else?
Most of the time this is a restricted filter, not a failing cell. A clogged filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes cell voltage to sag early and the BMS to reduce power output — even though stored charge is still high. Remove and clean the filter first. If suction returns to normal after that, the battery is not the problem.
The Legee 7 motor shuts off for a few seconds then starts again by itself during a clean — what's causing that?
That's an overcurrent trip from the battery's BMS. Sustained restricted suction — hair caught in the brush roll or a blocked intake — pushes current draw past the protection threshold and the BMS cuts power momentarily, then resets. Clear the brush roll and check the intake path before your next run. If trips stop after clearing the blockage, the battery is functioning correctly.
I've had the new LG700P1001 battery for three months and the Legee 7 already seems to be running shorter cleans than when it was new — what went wrong?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause. Leaving the Legee 7 on its dock between every clean keeps the cell in a constant low-level charge state that accelerates capacity fade. Charge the battery to full, then remove the unit from the dock and store it off charge until it needs cleaning again. Cells kept at 100% on continuous trickle charge can lose measurable capacity within a few months — cycling the battery down before recharging slows that fade noticeably.
