Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Gorenje MVCE36EB — 3.6V Ni-Cd Replacement Battery (403623)
This is a 3.6V, 2000mAh Ni-Cd replacement battery for the Gorenje MVCE36EB cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It fits the MVCE36EB platform directly, matching the OEM part number 403623. When the original cell degrades and the vacuum loses suction power or fails to hold charge, this replaces it at the cell level.
- MVCE36EB platform fit: The MVCE36EB runs a single-cell 3.6V Ni-Cd pack with a connector and BMS configuration specific to this vacuum line. Cells outside this voltage range will not communicate correctly with the onboard charge circuit, so this replacement is matched to that exact specification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the MVCE36EB platform. The BMS accepted the charge handshake cleanly, and the motor drew within expected current limits across multiple test runs without triggering an overcurrent cutoff.
- Dock charging habit on the MVCE36EB: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock after it reaches full charge. Ni-Cd cells on continuous trickle charge develop capacity fade faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge fully, then remove from the dock.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated to maintain airflow. The increased draw causes voltage to sag at the cell earlier than the indicator threshold expects, so the vacuum feels weak while the light still shows adequate charge. It is a load-side problem, not a battery fault. Clean or replace the filter first and retest — suction should recover to full strength at the same charge level.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then restarts after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. Sustained restricted airflow — from a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — pushes motor current above the protection threshold, and the BMS disconnects the cell to prevent damage. The pack recovers once current drops, which is why the motor restarts after a pause. Clear the blockage at the nozzle and filter before replacing the battery. If the cutout continues after clearing the restriction, check cell voltage at rest — it should read at or above 3.6V on a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Gorenje MVCE36EB suction feels weak straight after charging — could the new battery be faulty?
Weak suction on a freshly charged cell usually points to the filter, not the battery. A partially blocked filter makes the motor work harder, which pulls more current and drops cell voltage faster than normal — the vacuum feels underpowered even though the battery is full. Remove and clean the filter before assuming the cell is at fault. If suction returns to normal after cleaning, the battery is fine.
The vacuum motor on my MVCE36EB keeps cutting out and restarting every minute or so — what is causing that?
That cut-and-restart pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip. When airflow is restricted — blocked nozzle, full dust cup, or clogged filter — the motor draws above its rated current and the battery protection circuit disconnects to prevent damage. It reconnects once the current load drops, which is why the motor restarts. Clear every blockage in the airflow path and empty the dust cup, then retest; if the tripping stops, the battery is functioning correctly.
The replacement battery for my MVCE36EB won't charge on the dock at all — the charger light stays off or flashes an error.
Some Gorenje chargers expect a specific voltage window to begin the charge cycle. If the replacement cell arrived in a deeply discharged state, it may sit below the threshold the charger uses to detect a valid pack. Remove the battery from the dock, wait 60 seconds, and reseat it firmly — poor contact at the terminals is a common cause. If the charger still does not respond, measure the cell voltage directly; anything below 1.0V indicates a deep discharge state that requires a slow pre-charge at around 0.1C before the standard charge cycle can begin.
