Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

OBH Nordica EO654 / EO6545NO/BA0 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 14.4V 3500mAh Li-ion battery pack for the OBH Nordica EO654 and EO6545NO/BA0 cordless handheld vacuum cleaners. It replaces the original rechargeable cell when capacity has faded and cleaning sessions have shortened noticeably. Voltage and connector format match the original pack exactly.
- EO654 and EO6545NO/BA0 compatibility: Both models run the same 14.4V power rail and share an identical battery housing format and connector orientation, so one cell fits both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the vacuum's motor start load and sustained suction draw. The BMS held stable under normal carpet resistance and tripped correctly when we simulated a blocked filter — no false shutdowns on a clear airway.
- Dock charging discipline for the EO654: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. The EO654's charging circuit does not cut trickle current reliably once the pack is full, and prolonged dock connection degrades cell capacity measurably over weeks. Charge to full, then remove it.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor has to work harder than rated — most often because the filter is partially blocked. A restricted airway makes the motor pull more current, which causes voltage to sag at the cell even when stored charge still reads as adequate. The BMS interprets that sag as a low-cell event and pulls back power to protect the pack. Clean or replace the filter first; if suction recovers, the battery is not the issue.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is blocked — by a full dust cup, a clogged filter, or a carpet fibre wedged at the nozzle — the motor draws a sustained current spike that exceeds the BMS threshold. The protection circuit cuts output, then resets once temperature and current drop. Clear the blockage, empty the dust cup, and check the filter. If the motor cuts out again on an unobstructed surface, measure resting pack voltage — it should sit above 14.0V after a full charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My OBH Nordica EO654 runs for a much shorter time than it used to — could a blocked filter be causing this, not just battery wear?
Yes, a partially blocked filter is one of the most common causes of shortened runtime that gets blamed on the battery. Restricted airflow forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which drains the cell faster and can trigger early BMS cutback. Clean or replace the filter and empty the dust cup fully before concluding the battery has faded. If runtime improves immediately after clearing the filter, the pack is not the root cause.
My replacement battery for the EO654 won't charge — the charger light doesn't respond at all. What should I check?
Some OBH Nordica chargers use a low-voltage detection handshake before initiating a charge cycle. If the replacement pack arrived deeply discharged — below roughly 10V on a 14.4V Li-ion cell — the charger may refuse to start. Try connecting the battery for 10–15 minutes anyway; some chargers will trickle-feed a deeply discharged pack back into the handshake window. If the charge light still does not respond, verify the charger output with a multimeter — it should read between 16.8V and 17V DC at the connector pins.
The EO654 motor keeps cutting out and restarting every 30 seconds or so on thick carpet — is this a battery fault?
This pattern is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip cycling on and off, not a failing cell. Thick carpet increases airflow resistance, the motor draws a current spike to compensate, and the BMS shuts output to protect the pack — then resets once current drops. Check the filter first; a partially clogged filter compounds the restriction significantly. If the cutting-out stops on hard floors but persists on carpet after cleaning the filter, the original cell's BMS may have been more tolerant — confirm the replacement pack is fully charged to 16.8V before testing further.
