Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Gorenje SVC144FW / SVC144FBK Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (577276)
This is a 14.4V, 3000mAh (43.2Wh) Li-ion battery pack for the Gorenje SVC144FW, SVC144FBK, VC2930, and VC2932-GS cordless stick vacuums. It replaces OEM part numbers 577276, 574791, and 728267. The pack slots into the same bay as the original and connects to the same BMS handshake the charger expects.
- SVC144FW, SVC144FBK, VC2930, VC2932-GS fit group: These four models share the same 14.4V motor rail, battery bay dimensions, and connector pinout. The BMS on each communicates the same charge-control signal, so one pack covers all four without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full discharge and recharge on the SVC144 platform. The BMS held cutoff at 10.8V under load and accepted charge current from the OEM dock without fault codes or interrupted charge cycles.
- Dock charging habit for this vacuum: The SVC144 series dock delivers a trickle charge once the pack reaches full. Leaving it on the dock continuously compresses cycle capacity faster than standard use. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The SVC144 motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling the cell voltage down faster than the indicator tracks. The indicator reads state-of-charge, not real-time voltage sag, so the light stays green while suction is already weak. Wash or replace the filter first before assuming the battery is at fault. If suction recovers after a filter clean, the cell itself is likely fine.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then restarts after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a flat battery. It happens when sustained suction restriction — usually a near-blocked filter or a partial blockage in the nozzle — pushes current draw above the pack's trip threshold. The BMS cuts power to protect the cells, then resets once current demand drops. Clear the blockage and check the filter; if the cutout stops, the pack is working correctly. If it continues with a clean filter on flat floor, check that the replacement pack's BMS trip rating matches the OEM spec at 14.4V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Gorenje SVC144FW battery drains noticeably faster than it used to — filter is clean and there's no blockage. What causes capacity fade like this?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause on this vacuum. The dock delivers a trickle charge after the pack is full, and sustained trickle current degrades Li-ion cells faster than regular charge-discharge cycling. Check whether the vacuum lives on the dock between uses — if it does, that's the cause. Charge to full, remove from the dock, and store the vacuum off the charger until the next clean.
The SVC144FBK won't charge on the dock after I installed the replacement battery — the charger light just flashes and never goes solid. What's happening?
The OEM dock expects a specific BMS handshake before it starts a charge cycle. If the handshake signal is missing or the pack voltage is below the dock's recovery threshold, the charger faults out instead of charging. Verify the replacement pack part number matches 577276, 574791, or 728267. If the pack voltage has dropped below 10V from deep discharge, place it on the dock for 30 minutes — some units recover the handshake once the cells reach the minimum recognition voltage.
The Gorenje VC2930 loses suction hard about halfway through vacuuming carpet but works fine on hard floors. Is that a battery problem or something else?
Carpet requires significantly more airflow restriction to lift debris, which pushes motor current up and causes voltage sag in a degraded or cold pack. On hard floors the motor runs at lower draw, so the voltage holds. If the original pack does this, the cells have lost enough capacity that high-draw tasks expose the sag. A fresh 3000mAh pack at 14.4V will restore the voltage headroom the motor needs on carpet. If the new pack shows the same symptom, check the carpet brush roll for hair wrap restricting rotation.
