Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gorenje SVC144XX — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (861788)
This is a 14.4V 3000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Gorenje SVC144XX cordless stick vacuum cleaner. It replaces OEM part number 861788 when the original cell has degraded or stopped holding charge. The battery restores full motor voltage to the cleaning head and floor brush.
- SVC144XX platform fit: The SVC144XX uses a 14.4V lithium-ion cell with a specific BMS handshake that communicates state-of-charge to the vacuum's motor controller. This replacement carries the same voltage rail and connector configuration to maintain that communication link.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery under load conditions that simulate carpet and hard floor suction draw. The BMS held steady through sustained motor pull and triggered cutoff correctly at the low-voltage threshold — no false trips on normal use.
- Dock charging habit on the SVC144XX: Do not leave the vacuum seated on the charging dock permanently. The SVC144XX dock does not cut power once the cell is full, and continuous trickle current causes measurable capacity fade over weeks. Charge fully, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor is working harder than rated — usually because the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll has a restriction. Increased motor draw pulls the cell voltage down faster than the indicator circuit expects, so suction weakens while the LED still shows adequate charge. The BMS reads real cell voltage, not the indicator's calibrated curve. Clean the filter and check the brush roll before replacing the battery — if suction recovers immediately after cleaning, the cell is not the fault.
Motor cuts out mid-clean and then restarts after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage or a clogged filter, current draw spikes past the BMS threshold and the circuit opens to protect the cell. The pack cools briefly, the BMS resets, and the motor restarts. Clear any blockage and check that the filter is seated correctly — a poorly seated filter creates turbulence that amplifies draw. If trips continue on an unobstructed machine, measure resting cell voltage: anything below 14.0V on a recently charged pack points to a degraded cell that can no longer deliver rated current.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Gorenje SVC144XX loses suction halfway through cleaning but the battery light still shows green — is the battery failing?
Not necessarily the battery. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which drags cell voltage down faster than the indicator circuit tracks — so suction drops while the LED still reads green. Clean the filter and clear the brush roll first. If suction is restored immediately, the battery is not the issue; if suction stays weak on a clean filter, charge the pack fully and check resting voltage — it should read at or above 14.4V.
The motor on my SVC144XX keeps cutting out and restarting every minute or so during a clean — what is causing this?
This is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, not a dead pack. Sustained suction against a restriction — blocked filter, jammed brush roll, or a clogged inlet — pushes current past the BMS protection threshold, which opens the circuit. The pack recovers after a short rest and the motor restarts. Clear every airway in the vacuum and reseat the filter; if the cutouts stop, the cell is fine. If trips continue on a completely unobstructed machine, the existing cell can no longer deliver rated current and replacement is the correct step.
I replaced my Gorenje SVC144XX battery but the new pack is fading faster than expected after only a few weeks — what went wrong?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause. The SVC144XX dock does not terminate charge once the cell is full, so leaving the vacuum seated permanently pushes a low-level trickle current through the cell continuously. Li-ion cells degrade measurably faster under that condition than when charged only from depleted. From this point, charge the pack fully, then lift the vacuum off the dock and store it upright away from the charger until the next use.
