Fits Hoover Air Cordless 2-in-1 Deluxe Stick vacuum, replacing OEM part numbers BH03120, BH03120PC, 44139, 440005973, 440005966, and BH03100.
20V, 6000mAh lithium-ion delivers full motor torque on hardwood and carpet without voltage sag mid-cycle.
Connector seats vertically into the handheld grip dock with a quarter-turn locking tab that must seat flush.
We tested the BMS on a BH52120PC unit—no fault codes, steady current draw under sustained suction load, clean handshake with charger on first cycle.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously when full; trickle charge degrades capacity faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hoover Air Cordless 2-in-1 Deluxe Stick — 20V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BH03120)

This 20V 6000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Hoover Air Cordless 2-in-1 Deluxe Stick and Handheld Vacuum. It fits models including BH52120PC and BH50140, covering a wide range of the Air Cordless series. Capacity figures come from the product data: 6000mAh / 120Wh.

  • Air Cordless series compatibility: These models share the same 20V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. Swapping the pack doesn't require any reconfiguration — the charger and vacuum both recognise the replacement cell through the same handshake the OEM pack uses.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the BH52120PC platform. The BMS responded correctly to the charger handshake, and the overcurrent cutoff triggered at the expected threshold under a simulated blocked-filter draw event — then recovered cleanly once load was removed.
  • Dock charging habit on this vacuum: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. The Air Cordless series does not cut dock power once the pack is full, so continuous trickle current accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full and remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than the battery's rated discharge ceiling — usually caused by a partially blocked filter or brush roll, not a weak cell. The voltage sag under restricted load tricks the BMS into reducing output before the fuel gauge registers low. The vacuum feels like it's running out of charge, but the pack still has capacity left. Clear the filter and check the brush roll for hair wrap before concluding the battery is at fault.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering on its own

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — clogged filter, blocked intake, or tangled brush roll — the motor pulls sustained high current, and the BMS interrupts the circuit to protect the cells. The vacuum restarts because the BMS resets once current demand drops. Fix the restriction first: clean or replace the filter, then check that the intake path is clear. If the cutout persists on a clean machine, measure pack voltage at rest — a healthy cell at this capacity should read above 21V off charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hoover Air Cordless loses suction fast but the battery light still shows full — what's going on?

A restricted filter or blocked brush roll forces the motor to draw more current than normal, causing voltage sag well before the battery indicator registers low. The vacuum feels underpowered even though the pack has capacity remaining. Clean or replace the filter and clear any debris from the brush roll first. If suction returns to normal after that, the battery is not the cause.

The motor on my BH52120PC cuts out for a few seconds, then starts again on its own — is this the battery failing?

Most likely not — this is the BMS tripping on overcurrent, which happens when restricted airflow forces the motor to sustain a high draw. The BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cells, then resets once load drops. Check the filter and intake path for blockages before replacing the pack. If the cutout continues on a fully clean machine, charge the battery to full and check that resting voltage reads above 21V.

My replacement battery isn't holding as much charge as it did when new after only a few months — did I get a faulty cell?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade on the Air Cordless series. The charger does not cut power once the pack is full, so leaving the vacuum docked permanently applies a constant trickle current that degrades the cells over time. Charge the pack to full, remove it from the dock, and only return it when the vacuum needs charging again. Cells that have been trickle-charged for months will not fully recover, but stopping the behaviour prevents further loss.
