Fits Hoover S2211 and S2211-100 cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part H-59139247.
6V 3000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers 18Wh — sufficient for handheld and stick cleaning cycles on floors and upholstery.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in the S2211 charging cradle; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and cycled without fault codes.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH cells on trickle charge fade faster than those removed when full.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hoover S2211 / S2211-100 — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (H-59139247)

This is a 6V 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Hoover S2211 and S2211-100 cordless stick vacuum. It replaces OEM part numbers H-59139247 and 59139247. Capacity figure is taken directly from product data: 3000mAh (18Wh).

  • S2211 and S2211-100 platform: Both model variants run the same 6V cell pack with the same connector and BMS handshake, so one battery fits both. The voltage rail is shared across the motor and suction control board — no adapters or modifications needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell pack through charge and discharge cycles on the S2211 platform. The BMS accepted charge from the stock Hoover charger without fault codes, and the motor drew rated current without triggering overcurrent cutoff under normal suction load.
  • Dock charging behaviour on the S2211: The S2211 charger does not terminate charge automatically when the dock detects full capacity. Leave the vacuum on the dock only until the charge light clears, then remove it. Continuous dock charging applies a trickle current that degrades Ni-MH cells faster than a regular charge-and-remove cycle.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator shows low on the S2211

The S2211 battery indicator reads state of charge from resting voltage, not under-load voltage. When the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll is restricted, the motor draws more current than rated — this causes voltage to sag under load even when the cell still holds charge at rest. The indicator shows adequate charge, but suction pressure drops noticeably. Clean the filter and check the brush roll for debris before assuming the battery is at fault; if the problem clears after cleaning, the cell is fine.

Motor cuts out mid-use and then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush roll, or a blockage in the hose — the motor load spikes past the BMS current threshold. The BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cell, and the motor goes silent. After a short pause the BMS resets and power returns. The fix is to clear the restriction first: remove the filter, tap it clean, and check the hose for obstructions. If the cut-out stops after cleaning, no battery fault exists.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hoover S2211 holds charge fine but suction feels weak even on a full battery — what's causing it?

A partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder and draw more current than rated, which causes voltage sag under load and reduces suction pressure even though the battery is fully charged. Remove the filter, tap it firmly to clear debris, and reinstall. If suction recovers immediately, the cell is not the problem — the filter restriction was the cause.

The S2211 motor cuts out for a few seconds during use, then comes back on its own — is the battery failing?

That cut-and-recover pattern is the BMS tripping on overcurrent, not a failing cell. It happens when restricted airflow — blocked filter, tangled brush roll, or a hose blockage — spikes motor current above the BMS threshold. Clear any blockage and clean the filter first. If the cut-out stops, the battery is functioning correctly; the trigger was restricted suction, not cell degradation.

I left my S2211 on the charging dock for several days and now the battery barely holds charge — did I damage it?

Yes — Ni-MH cells degrade faster under continuous trickle charge than under regular charge-and-remove cycles, and the S2211 dock does not cut charging automatically at full capacity. Extended time on the dock puts a sustained low current through the cell that accelerates capacity fade. Going forward, charge the vacuum until the charge indicator clears, then remove it from the dock. If the battery has already lost significant capacity, a full discharge followed by a complete charge cycle can partially recover Ni-MH cells — run the vacuum until it stops, then charge fully before use.
