Fits AEG FM 36 and Junior 2.0 cordless vacuums, replaces OEM Type141 battery pack.
3.6V and 2000mAh capacity restores full motor power for extended cleaning on dust and debris tasks.
Connector slides straight into the FM 36 dock with positive contact pins aligned; locking tab seats flush.
We bench-tested this Ni-MH cell in the FM 36 charger; BMS showed stable charge acceptance with no fault cycles.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock permanently — continuous dock charge degrades Ni-MH capacity faster than charge-when-depleted cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AEG FM 36 / Junior 2.0 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (Type141)

This is a 3.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the AEG FM 36 and Junior 2.0 cordless handheld vacuums. It replaces OEM part number Type141. Fits the existing battery compartment with no modifications needed.

  • FM 36 and Junior 2.0 compatibility: Both models share the same 3.6V cell configuration, connector pinout, and physical housing spec. One replacement cell fits either unit — no adapter, no rewiring.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the FM 36 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and motor start current settled within normal range on each test run.
  • Dock charging on the FM 36: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. The FM 36 dock does not terminate the charge cycle once full — continuous trickle current degrades Ni-MH cells faster than normal use cycles. Charge to full, then remove from dock.

Battery fade from leaving the FM 36 on the dock continuously

The AEG FM 36 charging dock applies a trickle current after the cell reaches capacity. Ni-MH chemistry handles this poorly — sustained low-level charging raises cell temperature and accelerates electrolyte breakdown. Over weeks, this compresses usable capacity well below the rated 2000mAh. Charge only when the vacuum is depleted and remove it from the dock once the charge cycle completes.

Suction dropping noticeably before the low-battery indicator activates

This happens when the cell voltage sags under motor load before the indicator threshold triggers. A partially clogged filter forces the motor to draw higher current, which accelerates voltage sag and makes the drop feel premature. Check and clear the filter first — if suction still drops early on a new cell, the issue is load-related, not capacity. A healthy Type141 cell should hold 3.6V output through normal debris loads without early sag.

Frequently Asked Questions

The motor on my FM 36 cuts out for a few seconds then comes back — what's causing that?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip. When suction is restricted — usually a blocked filter or nozzle — the motor draws more current than the BMS allows, and it cuts power briefly to protect the cell. Clear the filter and check the nozzle for blockages. If the motor still trips on a new battery with a clean filter, check that the filter is seated correctly, as a poor seal can cause the same restricted-airflow load spike.

My FM 36 charges for hours but still feels weak — is the charger the problem or the cell?

On Ni-MH packs that have been on the dock continuously, the cell itself is usually the failure point, not the charger. Long-term trickle charging causes capacity fade that no amount of extra charge time will reverse. Fit a fresh Type141 cell and run a full charge-then-use cycle before judging output. If the new cell also underperforms after a full charge, test dock voltage — it should read around 4.5–5V DC during an active charge cycle.

The FM 36 worked fine before, but now it won't run at all after fitting a new battery — what have I missed?

The most common cause is the cell not making firm contact with the terminal tabs inside the compartment. Ni-MH replacement cells can sit fractionally shorter than the original if the wrapper adds less bulk — push the cell firmly against the positive terminal and confirm the connector clicks or seats flat. Also verify the replacement is charged before first use, as new cells often ship at a partial state. Check terminal voltage with a multimeter — you should read at least 3.4V before attempting to run the motor.
