Fits Kärcher K55 and Broom K55 handheld vacuums; replaces OEM part 4KR-1500SC/V.
4.8V Ni-MH chemistry delivers 3000mAh capacity; maintains motor torque on carpet and hard floors.
Connector slides straight into the dock slot with a positive locking tab on the left side.
We bench-tested the BMS on a full charge cycle; the pack held voltage under sustained motor draw.
Do not leave this pack on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH cells develop capacity fade under trickle charge, so charge to full and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Karcher K55 / Broom K55 — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (4KR-1500SC/V)

This is a 4.8V, 3000mAh Ni-MH battery pack for the Karcher K55 and Broom K55 cordless handheld vacuums. It replaces OEM part 4KR-1500SC/V directly. The pack restores power to the vacuum motor when the original cell has degraded and no longer holds a usable charge.

  • K55 and Broom K55 fitment: Both models share the same 4.8V four-cell NiMH pack format, identical connector pinout, and the same charge-termination profile. One battery covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and draw tests on a K55 unit. The BMS held stable voltage across the motor's operating range and terminated charge correctly at full capacity without overrun.
  • Dock charging habit on the K55: Do not leave the K55 sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charge on NiMH cells accelerates capacity fade faster than normal cycle wear. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the K55

This happens when the motor draws more current than rated — usually because the filter is partially blocked. A restricted airflow path forces the motor to work harder, pulling higher current from the pack and causing voltage to sag under load. The indicator reads the resting voltage, not the load voltage, so it shows more charge than the motor can actually use. Clear the filter and check the dust bin before assuming the battery is at fault.

K55 motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, full bin, or a carpet snag — the motor spikes current demand beyond the pack's continuous output threshold. The BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cells, then resets once current demand drops. Clean the filter and empty the bin first. If the fault continues on a clear filter, measure pack voltage under load — it should hold above 4.2V during normal motor operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

My K55 charges fully but loses strong suction really fast — is the new battery actually full capacity?

A restricted filter is the most common cause of this — it forces the motor to draw excess current, which drags pack voltage down faster than a clear-airflow run would. Clean the filter and empty the bin, then retest. If suction holds longer on a cleared filter, the battery is performing correctly and the issue was draw, not capacity. If the pack still sags quickly on a clean filter, charge it fully, let it rest 10 minutes, and measure resting voltage — a healthy 4.8V NiMH pack should read at least 5.4V after a full charge.

My K55 won't charge after I fitted the replacement battery — the charger light doesn't come on at all.

Some Karcher chargers use a voltage-sensing handshake before initiating charge — if the replacement pack arrives deeply discharged, the charger may not detect it as a valid battery. Apply a short manual top-up using a compatible NiMH charger set to 4.8V at a low current (around 300mA) for 10–15 minutes to bring the pack above the detection threshold, then return it to the K55 dock charger. If the dock light still does not activate, check that the battery connector is fully seated — the four-cell pack needs firm contact on all pins to complete the charge circuit.

The K55 battery I replaced six months ago is already losing charge faster than it did when new — what causes that?

NiMH cells degrade faster when kept on the charging dock continuously between uses. The K55 dock does not cut power when the pack is full, so it trickle-charges indefinitely — this is a known wear accelerator for NiMH chemistry. Charge the pack only when the vacuum needs it, then remove it from the dock. If the pack is already faded, run two full discharge-and-charge cycles to partially recondition the cells before judging remaining capacity.
