Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lydsto G2 / HS1 / L1 / R1 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 14.4V 6700mAh lithium-ion battery pack replaces the original power cell in the Lydsto G2, HS1, L1, and R1 cordless vacuums, plus four additional compatible models in the same family. It restores suction performance when the original cell can no longer hold a usable charge. Capacity is 96.48Wh — matched to the stock specification.
- G2 / HS1 / L1 / R1 platform compatibility: These models share the same 14.4V voltage rail, connector format, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why a single cell works across the range. Swapping to a different voltage pack — even slightly — will cause the motor controller to refuse startup or trip immediately under load.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated motor-start and sustained suction loads. The BMS held stable across all draw profiles, with overcurrent protection tripping correctly on blocked-airflow simulation rather than during normal cleaning use.
- Dock charging behaviour on the G2 series: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous dock charge forces a low-level trickle current through the cells even after they reach full charge, accelerating capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The battery indicator on the G2 reads state of charge, not voltage under load. When the motor draws hard — especially on carpet or with a partially blocked filter — pack voltage sags below what the motor controller needs to maintain full suction, even though the indicator still shows charge remaining. A degraded cell makes this worse because internal resistance rises with age, increasing the voltage drop under load. If suction noticeably drops but the indicator shows 50% or more, check the filter first, then assess whether the battery is holding voltage under load.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then restarts after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, clogged brush roll, or sealed inlet — the motor works harder to maintain suction and draws current beyond the BMS protection threshold. The BMS shuts the pack down to prevent cell damage, then resets once current drops. Clear the restriction and the trip stops. If it continues with clean filters, measure resting pack voltage — a healthy 14.4V nominal pack should sit above 15.8V fully charged.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Lydsto G2 loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery light still shows charged — is the battery failing?
Not necessarily the battery first. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current to maintain airflow, which causes voltage to sag under load even when state-of-charge looks fine. Clean the filter completely and check the brush roll for hair wrap, then run again. If suction still drops with a clear filter and the pack is over a year old, the cells have likely lost enough capacity that internal resistance is causing voltage sag — replacing the pack will restore full motor voltage under load.
The vacuum motor shuts off suddenly during use then comes back on after I wait a few seconds — what's happening?
The BMS is tripping on overcurrent — this is a protection response, not a fault. It happens when the motor is working against a restriction and pulling more amps than the pack's protection threshold allows. Check the inlet, filter, and brush roll for blockages before assuming the battery is the cause. If the motor cuts out even with no visible restriction, measure pack voltage at rest — it should read above 15.8V on a full charge; anything below 14V at rest means the cells are degraded.
I left my Lydsto on the dock for weeks and now it barely runs — did I damage the battery?
Yes — continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity loss in this vacuum family. Once the pack reaches full charge, the charger maintains a low trickle current through the cells, and sustained trickle charging accelerates lithium-ion degradation. A replacement pack will restore capacity, but to protect the new one, charge to full and remove the vacuum from the dock rather than leaving it docked between every use. Store the vacuum with the pack at roughly 50–70% charge if it won't be used for more than a few weeks.
