Fits Electrolux EER73BP 90027756700 and EER73DB 90027756500 cordless vacuums; replaces OEM battery part number AWM224641.
14.4V 1500mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full motor torque on carpet and hard floor without mid-cycle voltage sag.
Connector slides into the battery slot on the vacuum handle with a positive locking tab; orientation is keyed.
We bench-tested this cell in the EER73BP platform — BMS accepted charge cycle on first insertion without fault codes.
Remove the battery from the charging dock immediately after reaching full charge; continuous dock connection causes capacity fade within weeks.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Electrolux EER73BP / EER73DB Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AWM224641)

This is a 14.4V 1500mAh Li-ion battery pack for the Electrolux EER73BP and EER73DB cordless stick vacuums. It replaces OEM part numbers AWM224641 and AWH325062. The pack slots into the handle bay and powers both the motor and the onboard electronics.

  • EER73BP and EER73DB compatibility: Both the 90027756700 and 90094070300 variants of the EER73BP, plus the EER73DB 90027756500 and 90094070200 runs, share the same 14.4V rail, connector geometry, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers the full lineup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the EER73 platform. The BMS initialised correctly on the stock charger, voltage held stable under motor load, and the pack reached rated capacity without thermal flags.
  • Dock charging on the EER73 series: These vacuums sit on a wall-mounted dock between uses. Leaving the pack on continuous dock charge after it reaches full degrades cell capacity faster than normal cycling. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The EER73 motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or the bin is full — the extra load pulls cell voltage down early, and the BMS throttles output before the indicator registers low. The vacuum loses suction, but the battery reads fine. Empty the bin and clean the filter first; if suction recovers immediately, the pack is not the cause. If suction stays weak with a clean filter, check resting pack voltage — a healthy cell at partial charge should sit above 13.5V.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. Sustained restricted airflow forces the motor to draw beyond the pack's rated current threshold, and the BMS shuts the output to protect the cells. After a short pause the BMS resets and the motor runs again — until the next restriction event. Clear any blockage in the head, hose, or filter before assuming the battery is at fault. If the cut-outs continue after clearing blockages, check that pack voltage under load does not drop below 12V, which would indicate genuine cell degradation.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Electrolux EER73 has noticeably less suction lately even with a clean filter — could the battery be the cause?

Yes. As Li-ion cells degrade, they sag under load — the pack voltage drops faster than the indicator shows, and the motor runs below its rated speed, which directly reduces suction. Check resting pack voltage after a full charge; it should read at or above 14.4V. If it reads below 13.8V at rest, the cells have lost capacity and the pack needs replacing.

The vacuum charges fine on the dock but cuts out after a few seconds of use and then restarts on its own — what is happening?

That is a BMS overcurrent trip. The pack shuts output when current spikes past the safe threshold — usually from a blocked head, clogged filter, or a restricted hose forcing the motor to work harder. Clear any blockage first, then retry. If cut-outs continue with no blockage present, run the pack down to around 20% charge and do a full charge cycle; a BMS that has never been fully cycled can trip too early until it calibrates.

The replacement battery is not holding as much charge as the original did when it was new — is that normal for a new pack?

New Li-ion cells sometimes need two or three full charge-and-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. If the pack still feels short after three cycles, check whether the vacuum is being left on the dock continuously — trickle charge from permanent dock mounting is the main cause of early capacity fade on the EER73 series. Charge fully, remove from the dock, run it down in normal use, then recharge. Capacity should stabilise within the next two cycles.
