Fits Rowenta AC922701/9A0 and AC92274A models, directly replaces OEM part RS-AC3498.
7.4V lithium-ion delivers 3000mAh capacity; sustains motor torque on carpet and hard floors without voltage sag.
Connector seats into the Rowenta dock mount with alignment tab; verify clean contact pins before insertion.
We bench-tested the BMS under sustained motor load on restricted filter simulation; cell held voltage curve without early cutoff.
Do not leave this cell on the charging dock continuously — trickle charge degrades capacity faster than standard cycles; charge to full and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta AC922701/9A0 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RS-AC3498)

This 7.4V, 3000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the RS-AC3498 cell in Rowenta cordless stick vacuums. It fits the AC922701/9A0, AC922701/9A1, AC92274A/9A0, and AC92274A/9A1 models. The battery slots into the original housing and connects to the same BMS circuit the vacuum expects.

  • AC922701 and AC92274A compatibility: These four models share the same 7.4V power rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell design covers all four variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the AC922701 platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the charger, accepted charge without fault codes, and held voltage within spec across the draw cycle.
  • Dock charging habit on these vacuums: Remove the vacuum from the charging dock once the indicator shows full. The AC922701 dock does not switch to a true maintenance charge — it continues to push current into the cell, which accelerates capacity fade over weeks of continuous connection.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the AC922701

This happens when motor draw exceeds what the cell can deliver at its current state of charge, even with bars still showing on the indicator. The indicator reads cell voltage at rest, not under load. A degraded or partially discharged cell sags sharply under the motor's draw, cutting airflow before the display catches up. A fresh cell at 3000mAh holds voltage above the sag threshold for significantly longer into the charge cycle.

Motor cutting out and recovering mid-clean

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery failure. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor works harder to maintain airflow, drawing sustained current above the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS disconnects to protect the cell, then resets after a few seconds. Clean or replace the filter first — if the cut-outs stop, the battery was not the problem. If cut-outs continue on a clean filter with a new cell, check that the battery terminal is fully seated and reading above 7.0V at rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Rowenta stick vac loses suction well before the battery light shows it's low — is the battery the problem?

Usually yes, if the battery has significant cycles on it. A worn cell's voltage sags sharply under motor load even when the indicator still reads mid-charge, because the indicator measures resting voltage, not load voltage. A fresh 3000mAh cell at full charge holds voltage above the sag threshold for much longer into the cycle. Fit the new cell and run a full charge before the first use to confirm.

The vacuum motor on my AC922701 keeps cutting out for a few seconds and then coming back — what's causing this?

That's the BMS tripping on overcurrent, then resetting. It happens when a blocked filter forces the motor to draw sustained current above the BMS cutoff limit. Pull the filter out and clean it thoroughly — if the cut-outs stop, the battery was protecting itself correctly. If the problem continues on a clean filter with a fresh cell, check that the battery is fully clicked in and reads above 7.0V at rest.

My replacement RS-AC3498 battery isn't charging — the dock light doesn't come on properly.

The AC922701 charger checks for a BMS handshake before it begins charging. If the dock light flickers or stays off, the most common cause is the battery not fully seating in the connector — remove and firmly reinsert it. If the dock still won't initiate charge, confirm the dock output with a multimeter: it should read approximately 8.4V DC at the contacts. A dock reading below that needs replacement before the battery can charge correctly.
