Fits Rowenta Cleanette Air Force AC912501 and replaces OEM part RS-AC3583.
7.2V 2000mAh Ni-MH cell restores full motor voltage under load on this handheld unit.
Connector slides onto the dock contact pins with a quarter-turn locking tab on the housing.
We bench-tested this pack on the Cleanette dock — BMS accepted charge without fault and held voltage steady under motor draw.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously; trickle charge degrades Ni-MH capacity fast, so charge fully and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta Cleanette Air Force — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (RS-AC3583)

This is a 7.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Rowenta Cleanette Air Force cordless handheld vacuum, including model AC912501. It replaces OEM part RS-AC3583 and restores motor power when the original cell has faded or failed. Dimensions are 82.70 x 60.50 x 42.40mm — confirm these match your existing pack before fitting.

  • Cleanette Air Force fit: The Cleanette Air Force and AC912501 share the same 7.2V battery bay, connector, and BMS signalling. One replacement covers both units without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Cleanette platform. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, and the motor drew current within the expected range across load conditions.
  • Dock charging practice: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the dock continuously after a full charge is reached. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums develop capacity fade significantly faster under permanent trickle charge. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The Cleanette's indicator reflects pack voltage, not remaining capacity. Ni-MH cells under load can sag to a lower voltage than their resting reading suggests — the motor loses drive power before the indicator reacts. A partially blocked filter makes this worse: restricted airflow forces the motor to draw harder, which accelerates voltage sag. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest suction strength through a full charge cycle.

Motor cuts out briefly then recovers during use

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a wiring fault. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, sealed nozzle, or debris in the airway — the motor increases current draw until it crosses the BMS protection threshold and the pack briefly disconnects. Clear the blockage, allow 30 seconds for the BMS to reset, then restart. If cut-outs continue on an unobstructed vacuum, check that pack voltage at rest reads at least 7.5V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Rowenta Cleanette Air Force loses suction halfway through cleaning but the battery light still shows full — what's happening?

The battery indicator tracks resting voltage, not the pack's ability to deliver current under load. As Ni-MH cells age, voltage sags under motor draw well before the indicator reacts — suction weakens while the light stays green. A restricted filter worsens this because the motor pulls harder to compensate, deepening the sag. Clean the filter thoroughly and check that a fully charged pack measures at least 7.5V at the terminals before assuming the battery is at fault.

The vacuum motor keeps cutting out for a second then comes back on — why does this keep happening?

The BMS is tripping on an overcurrent spike, not a failing battery. When airflow is restricted — a clogged filter, a blocked nozzle, or debris in the intake — the motor draws more current than the BMS threshold allows, and the pack disconnects to protect the cells. Clear the blockage completely, wait 30 seconds for the BMS to reset, and restart. If cut-outs persist on a clear airway, the original battery cell may be too degraded to deliver stable current — that's when the replacement pack resolves it.

I've had the replacement battery for a few months and it already seems weaker than when I first fitted it — did I get a bad cell?

Capacity fade this early almost always points to continuous dock charging, not a defective cell. Ni-MH chemistry degrades faster under permanent trickle charge than from normal use cycles. If the vacuum lives on the dock between uses, the cells are being slowly overcharged every day. Charge the pack fully, remove the vacuum from the dock, and store it off-charge — cycle it this way for four to six weeks and you should see a noticeable improvement in sustained suction.
