Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta AC923501 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RS-AC3499)
This is a 10.8V, 2500mAh Li-ion battery replacing part number RS-AC3499 in the Rowenta AC923501 cordless stick vacuum. It fits the AC923501, AC923501/9A0, and AC923501/9AA variants. Use it when the original cell no longer holds a charge and suction drops off quickly after a full charge cycle.
- AC923501 variant compatibility: The 9A0 and 9AA sub-variants share the same 10.8V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol as the base AC923501, so one part number covers all three.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the AC923501 platform. The BMS accepted the handshake on first connection, and the motor drew current within the expected range across both hard floor and carpet modes.
- Dock charging behaviour: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging on Li-ion cells accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The AC923501 motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially clogged filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling voltage down faster than normal. The battery indicator tracks cell voltage, not remaining capacity directly, so voltage sag under load reads as low charge even when the cell still has energy. This causes perceived short runtimes that are actually filter-load problems, not cell problems. Clean or replace the filter before attributing suction loss to the battery.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage or a heavily loaded carpet, current draw spikes past the BMS protection threshold and the circuit opens to protect the cell. The BMS resets automatically after a short pause, which is why power returns without any user action. Clear the blockage, check the filter for restriction, and confirm the cell rests above 10.0V at open circuit before the next run.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Rowenta AC923501 loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery indicator still shows charged — what's happening?
This is voltage sag under motor load, not a dead cell. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which pulls cell voltage down and triggers low-power mode before the cell is actually depleted. Clean the filter first — if suction holds after that, the battery is fine. If sag continues with a clean filter on a new cell, check the inlet and brush roll for a partial blockage.
My AC923501 was working fine but after leaving it on the dock for weeks the battery barely lasts anymore — is the new cell going to have the same problem?
That fade is from continuous trickle charging, which stresses Li-ion cells at the top of their charge curve. The replacement cell will start at full capacity, but it will degrade at the same rate if left on the dock continuously. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock — only return it when you need to charge again. This single change significantly slows capacity loss over the life of the cell.
The AC923501 won't start charging with the new RS-AC3499 battery installed — the charger light just blinks or stays off — what should I do?
The charger expects a BMS handshake from the battery before it begins charging. If the replacement cell shipped in a deeply discharged state, the BMS may have locked out to protect the cell, and the charger sees no valid handshake. Leave the battery connected to the charger for 30 minutes without disturbing it — some chargers will attempt a low-current recovery pulse to bring the cell back above the reinitialisation threshold. If the charger remains unresponsive after that, verify the dock contacts are clean and making solid contact with the battery terminals.
